Wtf? I hate the way these guys keep fucking around with the anime schedule. I mean, dumping Fullmetal Alchemist (at like episode 35!) and replacing it with FMA: Brotherhood? Not to mention cutting down the WHOLE FMA time slot to only one ep. Why not have one episode of each? That way the regular FMA keeps rolling (since it was in the middle of the damn story!) and you can still play your shiny new series in the slot where its biggest audience is most likey to watch and be aware of it!

Also: I love Bleach. I really do. But two hours? FOUR EPISODES? Really? And for THIS you got rid of my FMA mid-season? Screw you guys!

Everything else I'm pretty neutral on. I like all the other series, but am not wedded to any of them so the shuffle doesn't bother me nearly as much on that end. (Although I wish they hadn't pushed Inuyasha SO damn late. I mean I know its a Saturday, but I just don't have the energy to stay up til 5am. Guess I'll be watching repeats on On Demand til the next shuffle.)

Also they gave Bleach four timeslots to move the old episodes back to the current ones, then they'll switch to two bleach timeslots just like it used to be and start running repeats of moribito probably.

Inuyasha is a fun show. There's absolutely nothing wrong with it.

You don't have a DVR to record them on SH?

Also Cartoon Network has been doing stuff like this since it's inception. I remember way back when they were airing Dragonball Z in the afternoon as a part of their Toonami block and I'd make it a point to catch it every day. But they'd sometime inexplicably stop airing it suddenly to broadcast something else for awhile, then bring it back a few episodes behind where they'd left off, then do it again a few weeks later.

I eventually just said "Fuck this" and bought the DVDs. I suggest you do the same in regard to FMA then you can watch it as often as you like for as many episodes as you like, without interruption.

Wait, what's the complete schedule now? I don't have cable.

And I'm guessing the reason Inuyasha is at that time slot is because it's waaay past ended already, and it's like 200 or so episodes. (also come to think of it, looking back, I didn't think it was that great, either.. only watched it because I was bored, and Kagome's hotness.)

THANK YOU. Jeeze, I didn't expect all the Inuyasha hate! The premise is fun, the animation is good, and the characters are entertaining...that's enough for me to enjoy it... Confused

Panda, I don't have a DVR sadly. And this is gonna sound really stupid, but I already own the entire DVD series. I just really, really enjoy my Saturday night 'hockey+beer followed by anime' ritual. I already know how the episodes go and could watch them again whenever, but its still nice to look forward to another couple eps every week. (Plus, AS plays them in HD! Not necessary obviously, but it IS nice when you can get it.)

Kojji, glad to hear about Bleach. Like I said, I love it, but four episodes is just a bit much. I don't even know if I could watch 4 eps of FMA every week. (Well okay, yeah I could. I'd love it.) One hour of Bleach is just about perfect for my taste, and I'm glad they'll be going back.

First, a general fact. Williams Street hates anime, despite how well it does. If anyone on here comes down for a visit I will be more than glad to show you where they are in Atlanta for any hijinks, pranks, or chicanery you have planned for them.

Now on to addressing Hawk's greivances:
1.) In its defense, FMA has been shown in sequence for at least 3 cycles from episode 1 to 51. The only reason they even ran it with Brotherhood later on the pipe is likely to serve as a wake-up call. Death Note was dropped in mid-showing for a while as well, though that was a matter of losing airing rights or something like that.
2.) Bleach. Two hours of REPEATS. I stopped watching it on CN because of a very reliable torrent source I won't/can't mention on here. The site I get my Bleach fix from is able to translate and upload subtitled eps the day after they air in Japan (currently up to a second filler arc at episodde 259). "Believe it." Fun fact: The Japanese voice actor Mayuri Kortsuchi (the creepy captain of Squad 12) did Yakko's voice in Japanese dubs of Animaniacs.
3.) Inuyasha. Other than the sometimes repetitive storylines (I did like the Band of Seven arc), one reason Inuyasha is regarded as sucking is the anime ended without an ending and the storyline continued on only in manga. Personally, I wouldn't mind if they went to another of their really old 5 p.m. (EST) chasers like Gundam SEED or Yu Yu Hakusho.

Anime Network can be found on Channel 1889 on DirecTV or Dish Network.

Yeah I was gonna say, I've watched all of FMA on CN before. They shouldn't have to show the whole thing 3 times, that's laziness on their part. There are better things to watch, but I enjoyed FMA enough to watch it all the way through.

[adult swim] hasn't had good anime since the days of Cowboy Beebop, Samurai Champloo and Big O. I know they still show Cowboy Beebop sometimes but it's not the same.

Ah, okay, I actually didn't know they had shown the whole series several times before. Its my understanding that they've never aired Brotherhood, so...yeah, that makes a bit more sense. I feel less irritated now. (Just still a bit disappointed. I LIKED the old schedule dammit!)

Still, Brotherhood is good so far. I just can't make myself fall for it the way I did for the original series, but the characters are still wonderful, and that's what really matters.

Maybe this'll make you feel better about the situation:

Oh boohoo, it didn't end properly. You know what else didn't end properly? EVERY AMERICAN CARTOON EVER.

Yeah, I exaggerated a little bit.

But a good cartoon is a good cartoon, regardless of whether it ended properly or not. Just because Inuyasha is one of the few Japanese cartoons that ran for more than 20 episodes and didn't get to resolve its story, doesn't make it bad. Perhaps it makes it disappointing by Japanese standards, but it holds up fine under Western standards.

I don't think it's fair to hold any foreign show up to Western standards unless it was produced for a Western audience. It would be like calling Blue's Clues a bad show because teenagers and adults can't enjoy it.
