So, my efforts of tracking down AFI's old bassist (Geoff Kresge) ended fruitfully! I discovered Tiger Army, a kickass Psychobilly band that was very close to AFI (My favorite band) Through the late 90s-early 00s. I've been discovering a lot of great songs by them, and was wondering if anybody had any thoughts or opinions, or if you've even heard of them.
This got me thinking though, what are your thoughts on Psychobilly in general? Does anybody listen to it anymore? Does anybody like it? Discuss.

Are "The Cramps" considered psychobilly? I dunno, I don't pay attention to stupid ass music genre names. I have loved "The Cramps" since I bought one of their tapes when I was in 6th grade, been hooked ever since.

Psychobilly is kind of a mix of Country and Punk, sorta.

Well if you're gonna use the term Rockabilly, yeah, that's pretty much what Psychobilly is.

Yeah, it's just rockabilly and punk mixed up. Stuff like Danzig-era Misfits, Cobra Skulls, or Reverend Horton Heet usually fit the bill. There's some good, and a lot of bad.

So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind. |

The only psychobilly I've ever heard is "Psychobilly Freakout" on Guitar Hero. I liked it a lot, actually, for what that's worth.

Better than strawberries? I think not.
Anyways, "The Cramps" should be required listening for anyone interested in the genre. They started rocking in 1976 and never failed to impress me. Unfortunately, Bryan Gregory and Lux Interior are dead. No more "Cramps" makes joshwoodzy a sad panda.
Required listening : "Human Fly, Haulass Hyena, Bikini Girls with Machine Guns, etc.."
