Aww...It's going to be episodic. Ah well. Here's hoping it's at least decent.

It looks decent. To be honest I was kind of expecting them to use an upgraded form of the Sonic Rush character model. Oh well, it might be really good.

Sega is finally doing the right thing, doing a new-retro title featuring the blue blur.

Seems like everyone is starting to jump on the retro bandwagon. I'm glad that they are going back to their roots however I just hope that they don't stay there too long. It is possible to get too much of a good thing. That being said this looks like it's going to be good. I just hope that each individual episode isn't too pricey.

Took 'em long enough to go back to 2D. This should have been done right when the Dreamcast closed business.

I hope they stay there long enough to give us another 2d Shinobi!

Taking a cue from Mario this time I see.
Also, wasn't Sonic & Knuckles Sonic 4? I always thought it was.

No, it was the second half of Sonic 3 that didn't fit on the first cartridge.

I actually enjoyed the Sonic Adventure series immensely. I began losing interest when they released Sonic Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog.

I really liked Sonic Adventure 2. Sonic Adventure 1 was kinda meh.
Sonic & The Secret Rings is, without a doubt, the best post-Sonic CD game they ever made.

I'd say they're already botching this by seemingly going the Sonic 1 route, rather than 2 or 3's. The appearance of stage 1 and the beetle badnick don't help at all.
And I'm still waiting for the Mario Wrestling game.

That'll never happen, and it would be stupid if it did. A Mario AND Sonic platformer, where the two team up, might be neat though.

Better idea: How about a Mario & Sonic RPG? I think that would be fun.

But by that, I meant something like Super Paper Mario , with that side scrolling action RPG element.

The Mario RPGs are too comical, I'd want something more serious and epic, like Mario Galaxy. Well more specifically, Mario Galaxy meets Sonic Adventure 2. Something like this:
Bowser has once again captured Princesss Peach and is holding her aboard his airship, which is somehow capable of space travel, in space. Mario shows up, and a fierce battle ensues. Mario & Luigi escape with Peach, leaving a beaten Bowser and his surviving cronies adrift on the broken ship. After an unspecified amount of time of floating through barren space, the airship arrives at Space Colony ARK. Bowser drops anchor and he and his henchman attempt to raid the station for parts. They are interrupted by Eggman, who is on the ARK attempting to create a smaller, portable version of the Eclipse Cannon. He is close to succeeding, but he needs a power source. He laments that the Chaos Emeralds would be perfect, but that his enemy Sonic always thwarts his attempts to obtain the Emeralds. At this point, Bowser offers Eggman a deal: he will help Eggman find a power source for his Mini Cannon if Eggman build him a new airship. The source, inevitably, turns out to be the seven Grand Stars. Bowser and Eggman steal the seven stars and test the cannon on the Mushroom Kingdom. Bowser once again kidnaps Princess Peach. As Bowser is about to use the Mini Cannon on Mario, Super Sonic, who has been tracking Eggman, shows up and attempts to save Mario. He pulls Mario out of the way of the blast, but the two end up taking a direct hit from the cannon. Mario and Sonic are sent flying through space, and the Chaos Emeralds that protected them from death are sent flying in different directions. Meanwhile, Eggman and Bowser head back towards Earth on conquer it.

So the game would center around Mario and Sonic retrieving the Chaos Emeralds, stopping Robotnik from conquering Earth, and rescuing Princess Peach.

Agreed. I think a cool game where the two switch worlds would be awesome. Mario in the Green Hill zone and Sonic in the Mushroom kingdom.

Given Sonic's speed, he would clear Mushroom Kingdom in 30 seconds flat.
 I like Syd's idea a lot though.

And I too think the RPGs are pretty comical, I wouldn't want Sonic in there, but I would at least like to see a return of the RPG element in some other aspect that isn't Super Paper Mario.
