I am so excited, and I just can't hide.
They've said in interviews that Juliet will come back, but only for a few episodes. I don't know how I feel about that. I really don't want to see her die again...

I'm still confused about who died in the nuke and how things would be fixed... Cause if they blow the island up shouldn't everything be fixed. But, if they never crashed wouldn't they have never blown up the island? Time is a silly plot point...

I hope it was all a dream sequence.
I'm just kidding, I never seen lost and I think it would be too late for me to jump into it

What I saw tonight was probably the worst season opener since the show started, I mean wow.. they are just making the shit up as they go along. The show hasn't been good since season 3 in my opinion. I knew it was going to get silly when Ben moved a frozen wheel to move the island.

Really? I loved the premiere, it brought up a lot of "the writers have known what they've been doing since the very start" moments.
My thoughts and theories on the premiere:
*SPOILERS AHEAD*
-Psuedo-Locke is the "Man in Black" (the dude seen sitting with Jacob on the beach talking about how they want to kill each other). My reasoning for this: Locke/MiB mentioned to Ben about how he "found his loophole", and as the Man in Black was talking to Jacob on the beach, he mentioned something about how he was going to "find a loophole" so that he could get Jacob killed, as he couldn't kill Jacob himself for some reason or another.
-Since Psuedo-Locke is the Cloud Monster, the Man in Black is the Cloud Monster.
-Jacob is the polar bear; the Man in Black constantly wears black, and Jacob constantly wears white (the polar bear was the only thing I could think of that stands out as prominently white).
-A possible explanation for the entire island is that it's some kind of chess game between two entities (Jacob and the Man in Black), where Jacob uses humans as pawns to prove that humanity has more good than evil, and the Man in Black uses humans to prove that humanity has more evil than good. (This is a stretch, but would that make Jacob an angel, whereas the Man in Black is a fallen angel?)
-When Ben "killed" Jacob, he didn't literally "kill" him, but merely removed his ability to directly influence the humans.
-About the hydrogen bomb: Juliet told Sawyer that how the plan to change the past by using the hydrogen bomb had "worked"; however, everyone is still on the island. The flashbacks revolving around Jack that show the original flight landing in LA must be showing how the bomb changed the past (exampe: Desmond is on the plane itself and not on the island), although if this is the case, an explanation for how everyone ends up on the island anyway remains to be seen. Basically, the hydrogen bomb didn't cause enough of an impact on the past to keep everyone from getting to the island.
-There's one thing that I can't figure out: when it showed Jack in the plane, it cut to a scene showing the entire island underwater. What does this mean?
-The main characters are all intertwined and destined to end up together on the island; even after the hydrogen bomb blew up, the scenes in the airplane and the airport show that all the characters end up making connections with each other one way or another, proving that even if they change the past, the present and future still end up the same.
-I've also noticed that the show deals with a lot of "life after death" situations; a reanimated Locke appears even after everyone thinks he's dead, Hurley has visions of the dead (case in point: when Jacob talked to him after Ben stabbed him mere minutes previously), Miles's ability to communicate with the dead, and a certain event at the end of the episode involving a main character and a "spring". What significance this theme has remains to be seen.

I think that its been pretty much confirmed that the "Fake Locke" is the MIB. And I see some "Biblical" allegorical-like scenes going on. Ben= Judas, MIB= Satan, Jacob= Jesus. IDK, but if you look at one of the posters it matches up with the Last Supper portrait.

Exactly this. I know you can watch 'em for free on their website, but I don't feel like trying to catch up on four year's worth of stuff. The box set will be the way to go for me.

The plane sequences aren't flashbacks, persay, in my opinion. They are peeks into a tangential universe where the hydrogen bomb detonated and the island's electromagnetic pocket was destroyed, thus preventing Desmond, Rousseau, and the Oceanic Flight from ever getting stranded there.
There's a theory of time travel that says you can't change your own timeline via time travel. Attempting to do so creates a parallel universe, which is how time paradoxes are prevented. Thus if I go back in time and kill Baby Syd, I'm not actually killing Baby Syd, but Baby Syd Prime.

Oh boy here comes the quantaum mechanics/metaphysics combo beatdown. Why did that have to be brought up? Now I have to go back to wondering if theory about a new universe being created with each desicion is correct >.< As for lost... well I gave up a while ago and it's too late for me to catch up. I'll just wait for the super ultimate all seasons pack.

I've heavily considered that, given the fact that if the island is underwater, it'd be a bit difficult to get back to it. The only thing that perplexes me, though, is that if the plane sequences are a parallel universe, then what do they have to do with the "main" storyline/universe?

My question is.... How did the island get underwater??? Surely the Nuke couldn't do that!

Obviously it didn't, considering that when it showed the island underwater, it showed the majority of the base intact.

I was just thinking, wouldn't it be great if sideways Locke wasn't really Locke, but MIB? If, not only was the creation of the "other" reality a way out for the people on the island, but also a way off the island for MIB as well?

Wouldn't it be great if John Locke was actually John Locke 17th century philosopher. Wherein Locke is actually a time lord and must occasionally change forms.

His next form better be David Tennant.

The sideways world was apparently some sort of Purgatory that was created when they set off the hydrogen bomb. As Christian explained, it existed beyond time, which is why characters who didn't die before the end of the series (Kate, Sawyer, Miles, Ben, Hurley, Rose, Bernard, etc.) were present there.
But yeah, they did end up leaving Purgatory and going to Heaven.

I was waiting for Eko or Walt, but they never appeared. D:
But now Jimmy Kimmel is on and there are gonna be 3 alternate endings so have to watch those before I can do anything else.
EDIT: Should've known.

And was this a good thing? I kinda fell away from watching it after season 2, and got too far behind to catch up. (Figure I'll buy the big full-series box set when it comes out.) But as a fan, was it a good ending, or were you disappointed? I've heard both.
