The teasers seemed to imply that Sylar sought out Parkman to remove his abilities. Character-wise, I could see Matt complying with that (what better way to take down a killer than to remove his tools of murder?) but I am admittedly a Sylar mark... they better not goddamn take his powers away, at least not until he (maybe) gets a much more epic fight with Samuel, now that Samuel seems to have deteriorated to "Fuck it, let's destroy stuff."
I liked the Hiro trial much more than I thought I would. I also marked out for the Adam/Hiro duel. But sadly, it just serves to remind me that I miss Adam and they really dropped the ball on that one.
And I squealed like a little girl when Adam called Hiro out on quoting Quantum Leap.

Not only is that not right, that's not even wrong. It's a meaningless statement. Saying something is "one molecule away" from plastic is like saying a farm is one letter away from a fart. Water is "one molecule away" from being explosive hydrogen gas. |

Another pretty good episode.
SPOILERS:
The stuff with Noah and the carnival was pretty interesting. I'm looking forward to seeing how that plays out since they all think he was the sniper when it was really Eli.
The Sylar/Parkman stuff was interesting especially how Parkman said he buried Sylar in his own worst nightmare. I was worried when Peter tried to revive Sylar. At least they didn't have him just undo what Parkman did which is what I thought was going to happen. I think it will happen eventually since in Peter's dream Sylar has his powers again, or at least looks like he was going to take Emma's ability in that dream. It was interesting seeing Peter in Sylar's nightmare. I also loved it when Parkman said "Enjoy Hell" to Sylar, that was pretty damn cool and Parkman looked really evil when he said it.
If the carnival is now going to start using their powers to kill people which is what I guessed Samuel was talking about at the end then Angela/Peter's dream of Emma makes sense. And I'm guessing the carnival will be out to kill all these people and Sylar will be the only one to stop them. I really want the Sylar/Samuel fight and I hope this is leading into it. I kind of also hope that Peter and Sylar team up. I'm kind of tired of seeing them fighting all the time and it would be cool to see them fight together for a change. They kind of did this in season three but it was handled pretty poorly and there was not much of an alliance between them. I kind of hope they work together to battle the carnival. Kind of like in pro-wrestling when two wrestlers who generally have hated each other finally team up.
I wonder how Tracy will fit into this whole thing since Lauren called Tracy at the end of the episode. I also wonder if Lauren's wounds will be fatal, I hope not since I'm starting to like the character.
Anyways I'm really looking forward to the next episode.

This has been a really strong season, but the audience numbers haven't been there. As reported in December though, Heroes was the most pirated television show last year, and Heroes rating don't account for people who watch it through LEGAL alternative means such as Hulu or NBC.com. There are only two episodes left this season, for a total count of 19, which is a little low. Most network shows get 20-26 episodes in a season.
Greg Grunberg (Matt Parkman) recently said in an interview that the season finale has a cliffhanger and was not written as a series finale. So if the show DOESN'T get renewed for a fifth season, be prepared to be even more unfulfilled than you were during the clusterfuck that was Volume 2.

I quit watching it after either the first or 2nd episode, but from what I've been reading and catching "Thanksgiving" it sounds like I abandoned the show too soon.

That sucks, I work on Monday nights and watch it on Hulu later in the week mostly. It sucks that Hulu does not count for the ratings. Sometimes I'll program my VCR to record it if it is an episode I really want to watch right when I get back from work.(I know VCR but it still gets the job done.)

I DVR it. And I was happy overall with this episode, I must say. Samuel conspiracy? Check. More Sylar/Parkman interactions? Check. Sylar teasing a face turn? Check.
But then again, I want to know what happened to Hiro, and I didn't see much if anything involving Hiro in the preview.

They need to bring the Hiro/Charlie thing to closure. Either have him find out where she is or have her already be dead like I predicted a while ago. I hate to say this but I really hope she is dead because that gives Hiro a reason to fight Samuel. And if the stuff they are hinting at with Peter and Sylar is true then we have a hell of a battle:
Hiro and Ando/Peter/Sylar VS Samuel and his carnival. That would be a hell of a lot of fun.
Could you also imagine Sylar somehow getting Eli's(multiplier) power?...Shit...I just came.

I'd almost be against Sylar getting Eli's powers, as that would make him TOO powerful, UNLESS they balance it out with Peter getting his full powers back. I actually kind of like Peter Petrelli as the loner, disgruntled hero... the same principle as Superman, a being who's more or less omniscient troubled by the fact that he's so powerful, everyone relies on him yet he can't be everywhere at once. Angst is usually kind of crap as a motivation, but it works with Peter.
If not, then let's let Sylar finally make his face turn, but keep him on an anti-hero level. If you need a new overpowered Big Bad, bring back Samson Grey, who has similar powers. I was disappointed by how anticlimactic Samson and Sylar's interaction was, and that'd be a chance to rectify it AND do something awesome.
I have a bad feeling about Charlie. Something tells me she's going to end up Caitlin 2: Electric Boogaloo. They seem to have forgotten about her already.
With how powerful Samuel's become, and with him getting the whole carnival back on his side, combined with Eli, I can see a pretty epic battle brewing. I just hope it, as well, isn't anticlimactic.
On a side note... since Parkman seems to have discovered how to "lock" Sylar's powers, and Sylar seems to be able to gain power by studying brains, maybe that unlocks a door for Parkman. Maybe Parkman can learn how Sylar absorbs powers. Sylar seems to have an empathic mimicry like Peter, but also the show leaves it open, as if Sylar "knows" how to duplicate powers. Remember, his power was seeing how things work... if Parkman learns how Sylar makes THIS process work, maybe Parkman as well can learn how to "copy" powers and become a new God Mode Sue, or even do a Heel Turn. Parkman is interesting as a villain.

Samson needs some magic Claire blood before he can become a viable villain though.

Talk about another great episode. The stuff with Sylar and Peter was quite good.

SPOILERS:
A very nice way to end the season. They had closure on the Charlie storyline and everything fell into place. I wonder what will happen to Samuel. Also I was a bit disappointed that it ended up being Peter VS Samuel and not Sylar VS Samuel but it wasn't much of a fight anyway since Hiro teleported everyone away from the carnival.
I also loved the throwback to season one where Claire jumped off the Ferris Wheel. She popped here arm back the same way she did in the first episode. I also liked when she said "My name is Claire Bennet, this is attempt number...I guess I kind of lost count." I wouldn't really call this a cliffhanger but I'm interested to see what all those reporters will do when the next season begins. Providing of course there is another season.
This in my opinion has been the best season since the first and I hope they continue making episodes like the ones they had all season long. Pretty much every episode this season has been pretty solid.
