I like that they're teasing Ray Park's character becoming hero-ish. Ray Park did wonders for the character of Toad in the X-Men movie, maybe he'll awesome it up here too now that they've seemingly given him something to do. I know I may be in the minority, but I've actually kind of missed Mohinder, and it was nice to see him again.
I wonder which powers Peter absorbed from Sylar, or if he's capable of absorbing them all.
My biggest complaint is that they went out of their way to give Peter a healing power, presumably to fix Hiro (and now Nathan by extension) and they kind of threw it away. Now what? Is Hiro going to time travel to a few days ago when Peter had the healing touch and Deus Ex Machina it all away? God dammit.
Since they've constantly teased us with Sylar heel-face turns all throughout the goddamn series, one wonders if they'll match him up against a fully powered Samuel, since they're hyping Samuel as ultra powerful. But probably not. Hiro's probably going to teleport behind him and give him the atomic wedgie of death at the finale. |
I really missed Mohinder as well. I miss his narration at the begging and end of the episodes. Those narrations tied the episodes together.
They can do whatever they want with Claire, I really don;t care about her anymore. They made her interesting in the first season, used her blood as a cure in the second, had her go against her father(both of them) in the third and now we get her in college. She started to become boring in season two. She was cool in season three when she was an assassin, which lasted for like one episode. But my hat is off to the writers for the sake of continuity; they at least kept her hair color the same in that episode and the other future episode "Five Years Gone" with her having a brunette hair color.
On to Sylar, this is a character I love to hate(look at my avatar). I love this character. However I love him more when he is powerless. In season two he used his cunning to get to New York and get the cure. Yet you feel sorry for him. In season three I was rooting for him to just kill his real father and then he teased him with having immortality and then he said something about just playing possum. I loved that he didn't kill his real father but let him die slowly from his cancer.
To Hiro, if they do kill Hiro they can kill the show. Hiro and Ando(Where is he by the way?) really allow some necessary cheesiness to occur. This seasob Hiro is really interesting as he is "dying." They made good use of it last episode when it took him a long time to teleport Lydia and himself back to the present day.

I think they're going to extremes to take Hiro out of the equation, even temporarily, yet again. How many times can you make Hiro retarded/take his power/erase his memory?

Not only is that not right, that's not even wrong. It's a meaningless statement. Saying something is "one molecule away" from plastic is like saying a farm is one letter away from a fart. Water is "one molecule away" from being explosive hydrogen gas. |

Ah, my bad. I took "possible spoilers" to mean "if you didn't already read it somewhere else".

Sorry about the confusion. I meant it as possible as in I think this is what may happen. Looking forward to tonight's episode.

Another excellent episode tonight.

Peter taking The Haitian's power was a pretty clever move. I actually also like the stuff with Claire this episode. Like I've said before I don't really have a problem with the character but the situations they put her in are mostly boring. Tonight she was in a fairly interesting situation. The "death" of Nathan was also well done in my opinion. They gave him a proper send off. Also this looks like the last episode until January as they said it would return on January 4th. Overall a pretty good episode.

Nathan's death was handled well, the stuff with him and Peter was done very well. But there were a couple of things that bugged me:
1) Why didn't Peter erase all of Sylar's memories? Wouldn't that have made it easier for Nathan to exist?
2) Why didn't Peter erase Nathan's memories of being Sylar? Wouldn't that have made it easier for Nathan to exist?
3) Nathan's sacrifice gesture was stupid. Obviously Sylar would survive the fall. He should have had Haitian Peter kill him.
At first I thought it was the Puppet Master dead in the back of the truck, and I was confused. It took me a minute to realize it was the redneck.

I think even if Peter killed Nathan/Sylar he would eventually regenerate. Like in the season three episode with the eclipse and Noah cuts Sylar's throat. When the eclipse was over he regenerated. Peter would not only have to kill Nathan/Sylar but he would have to be close to him to keep him from regenerating. Unless he cut Sylar up into tiny pieces but then wouldn't those pieces eventually regenerate? Or maybe each piece would regenerate as another Sylar.

Sylar was dying, but not dead, when the eclipse ended. Peter would have to kill him and wait for him to die before leaving. Worst case scenario, he'd had have to keep watch over the body until complete cell death occurred.

Bump because it's back.
Without recalling much immediately, I do like that they showed a conflict between Samuel and back-to-evil-normal Sylar, and it showed that apparently, Samuel can hold his own against God Mode Sylar. That makes things interesting.

What the fuck is up with this Claire/Sylar thing? That's just fucking creepy. And like, what if he wins her over?
We actually got Mohinder narration again! Finally!
I kinda liked the Hiro stuff.

I think Sylar looked a bit like Two Face after that sandstorm. I like the Sylar/Claire angle. This will at least give Claire a good storyline. I love the character of Claire but they tend to put her in really boring situations most of the time. Maybe they can fix that with this new Sylar plot.
Also what is with Peter, is he slightly getting his power back? I mean he only looked at the photo and picked up Nathan's power of flight. Like how Claude in season one said he just needed to focus and use the power he wanted.
The stuff with Hiro was actually a lot of fun. I liked how he was written to speak in geek kind of riddles.

I thought Peter got the power by getting Claire to get in touch with her old boyfriend that could fly, vis a vis Peter directly asking Claire about it. Since I figure they just didn't bother with the actor, maybe offscreen Claire called West and Peter got his power. Maybe I missed something, I dunno.
Yeah, I was amused by half of Sylar's face being shredded off during his fight with Samuel, but in all honesty, I was more or less geeking out because finally, FINALLY, it seemed, there's someone who's a match for Sylar without being Peter Petrelli. I like Peter, but now I almost wish they'd make him God Mode Sue again.

That makes sense now but I think they could handled it better. One scene he tells Claire to get in contact with West and they didn't bother even mention him getting the power from West. It made it more confusing when he looked at the photo of him and Nathan and started flying after that.
To me it looked like Peter was starting to again be able to use the powers he had before. Like I mentioned with Claude he taught Peter to be able to focus on one power and use it when he wanted as opposed to originally being only able to use a power when he was near somebody with a power.
Originally Peter could only heal when he was around Claire or fly only when he was near Nathan. Having Peter slowly get most of his powers back would be interesting.
Also what do you all think is going to happen with Parkman now that Sylar is out of his head? He didn't show up in the new episodes, the only reference to him is his name on a file folder in that box of Noah's documents.

Parkman, Surresh, and whatever Ali Larter's character's name is have all been underused this season.
I would love for Peter to get his powers back. Sylar gets boring when it's just unstoppable Sylar and there's no one who can even come close to subduing him.

Parkman was pretty well used when he had Sylar in his head but he has kind of dropped off the map after Sylar got back into his own body.
Surresh has been more underused than anyone else though. I'm not really sure why. I hope he comes back in the new episodes and is not only in one episode this season. They only really used him in that episode where Hiro took that film reel.
Tracy Strauss was used a bit and they were hinting at some kind of relationship between her and Noah but that plot has seemed to have dropped off the map as well. Maybe they took that plot point and just changed out Tracy for Lauren.

Surresh is definitely coming back. Given the last episodes, it would seem that Hiro and Ando are going to rescue him from the asylum that Hiro put him in.

Possible Spoilers?
I'd read somewhere that the actor that plays Mohinder has been accepted to another TV show and was filming a pilot or something to that effect, and if the show gets picked up or whatever, the character Mohinder will be killed on Heroes.
But you'd be better off googling that, because I recall reading it like a week ago and damn if I'm not fuzzy on the details.

Last night's episode was pretty good as well.
SPOILERS:
.
.

.
They brought Parkmak back and he was helping Noah try to find Vanessa so she could lead them to the carnival. Brief showdown with Samuel and Noah. Hiro and Ando rescue Surresh.
It was pretty funny when Ando was switching Surresh's medicine and ended up swallowing the pills.
The stuff with Emma and Peter was interesting. I wonder how by playing her cello that she would kill people. Maybe that thing that cracked her wall would be a weapon. Peter takes his mother's ability to dream the future. She tells him that he can't save her. Peter dreams and sees it is Sylar who "saves" her by killing her. he smashes the cello and she gets all pissed.
Ando fixes Hiro's mind by blasting him with his red lightning. Ando is worried this might kill Hiro based on the future Hiro saw where Ando killed him. ASurresh asked where this will happen. Ando says it was in Japan. Surresh comments that they are in Florida so it is all right. Noah and Lauren are kissing when Hiro, Ando, and Surresh teleport into Noah's apartment.
Pretty good episode. Also Lydia thinks that Peter could be the new Joeseph.

SPOILERS:
Overall I liked tonight's episode. The stuff with Sylar was interesting and I wonder what they are going to do with this storyline. I hope they find some way to use it to still keep him evil. Like he gets whatever he is after and still remains evil. The stuff with Hiro was pretty interesting. I liked seeing some of the older characters make cameos. Also the fight between Adam and Hiro was well done. Even though it was predictable what would happen when his mother showed up. I liked how Sylar also went to Parkman's house at the end. I'm interested to see what happens there. Also when Samuel freaked out and yelled something like "Play by your rules, from now on you're gonna play by mine!" That was badass. I'd like to see the direction they go with a Samuel that is really pissed and has snapped.

The Hiro trial was awesome. I really wish they had never killed Adam off.
Thank God they finally resolved the "Hiro is dying" plot.
I swear to God, sometimes they put scenes in the script just so they can shoot next week teasers that fuck with you. Like the Claire/Sylar kiss. I was so bullshit when they showed that in previews. The guy killed BOTH her biological parents, if she ever forgave him for that, especially when she won't forgive Noah for lying to her about Nathan's death, she'd be the worst character ever. Luckily, it was a red herring.
Sylar's storyline for next week looks interesting. The Samuel plot looks weird. We just saw Samuel raze a small town and somehow we get to Claire being all upset that Noah wants to kill Samuel.

Killing off Adam to bring back Arthur was a waste of a great character. Arthur was alive for what, part of a half season>?
I loved it during the trial Adam said something like "he is just reciting the opening to Quantum Leap." I also liked how they had the other cheerleader pop up, Sylar wound and all. My only real question about the trial is: If Hiro is using the Kensei sword...what sword is Adam using since he was Kensei in the past?
The Sylar/Parkman stuff for next has me excited but at the same time I think they are just going to have him go from person to person, everyone rejecting him just so he has no choice but to go back to the carnival. I really want a Sylar VS Samuel fight though so it might not be all that bad of a move.
