Wow, Pantera just got blasted. I'm surprised Megadeth's lasted this long, seeing as how they were well out of their thrash years by the time "Youthanasia" came around. I would have voted them down before Pantera, easy.

While it's true Youthanasia was certainly NOT a thrash album, it was still pretty good with well thought out, solid songs (barring "Victory" which was pretty much all Megadeth song titles up to that point for lyrics), if you're thinking of it in terms of best metal album then sure, it's not to be considered, but for what it was, it was good , with songs like "A tout le monde" "Train of Consequences", "I thought I knew it all", and "Family Tree". It was an incremental shift away from thrash starting with "Countdown to Extinction", but before they got so far up their own asshole with "Risk". And it showed that they could be successful outside of the realm of thrash, while not writing empty, vapid crap.
