Beakman's World was one of my favorite shows as a kid...much funner than Bill Nye.
And I never knew he operated the puppet on Story Time.

Beakman and his gang of characters actully made science fun, even more so than Mr.Wizard. To bad that once I hit Biology in college that changed. I loathed doing science expirements because they were stupid and took too much time for just 1 credit hour.
