It's just easier if I keep the same topic.

Here's how it's going to work. The first round will be the top 2 vote-getters advancing. Pairings will be re-done each round. Ties will be dealt with by removing one of the options and re-voting. Four way ties will be answered with extreme violence.

Voting will last at least one day and end whenever I feel the contest is definitively decided. I'll try and get a new contest up each day. Update: Starting with Round 2, all polls will have a 2 day limit. Tiebreaker rounds will still be 1 day.

Once we're down to 8, things will be the standard single-elimination style again.

Here are the pairings for Round 1 with appropriate links:

Since most of my other animated shows will most likely be nominated by other people, I'll nominate "The Critic" since it gave us this;

The Critic is amazing, to this day my brother and I still quote the show. Everytime we see something with a penguin in it, one of us will usually say "Wait a minute, penguins can't fly!" or if someone tells us we're driving too fast we'll say "Can't you see the terrible danger we're in!?"

Anyway, I want to nominate Reboot as a challenge to your CGI rule and also because it's a fantastic show.

Reboot came up when we were discussing this a week or so ago, actually. Also, American only? So shows like "Oh Canada", "Freaky Stories", and "Stickin' Around" are no-gos? I realize that the American majority here would mean any Canadian shows probably wouldn't stnad much of a chance... but come on, we're close enough!

As well, I'll be vanishing until Friday or Saturday, see you all then.

I agree about posting here. That way, you won't get 25 different lists that all have Simpsons, Family Guy, and He-Man on them. It's just easier to post them here, and if someone has already nominated what you were going to, you don't have to post.

You can, but it's a lot easier for me if I had them all in one place that I can easily organize into a list. And the "discussion" should happen during the votes.

No objection to posting nominations here, however. I'll pick them up.

Whether or not to allow CGI shows is indeed open to discussion. So discuss it. But it's gonna take more than "I like it" to convince me. And CP can give his own reasons why he doesn't want them included.

Because I haven't forgiven them for bombing the Baldwins.

Multiple nominations increase the chances a show gets into the contest. While I'm going to try, not every show is gonna make it.

And while I'll probably make sure I get all the "obvious" ones on my own nomination list, if it doesn't get nominated, it won't get in.

Since these would be 500% obvious to be in the brackets (and it would be absolutely fucking RETARDED if these weren't in), I can foresee one of these winning the whole shebang to start (at least with the people around here):

Animaniacs
Ren & Stimpy
Doug
Tiny Toon Adventures
Pinky and the Brain
Batman: TAS
Superman: TAS
X-Men

I also nominate Pokemon.

Is there a list of the nominated titles?

I feel like I must be nominating many shows that have already been nominated. This is a perfect use of the Wiki. Just make a list.

Here are a few from me:
* Family Guy
* Simpsons
* Futurama
* Duck Tales
* G. I. Joe
* Voltron
* Thunder Cats
* Transformers
* He-Man
* Smurfs
* Teen Titans
* X-Men (The one from the 90's)
* Tom and Jerry (Saturday Morning Cartoons from 80's)

Again, the point is that the shows with more nominations are more likely to get on the bracket. If people want to make theirs public, that's fine (and hey, feel free to add to your lists), but I won't even begin to compile them into a list until next week.

And just a note, yes, I'm open to convincing if you think something really should get in (seeing as how Reboot has already been mentioned at least three times, it might get a wavier). So argue at me.

And can we clarify which TMNT series is being nominated? I think they're different enough to qualify separately.

I don't see a rule up there that says "No anime", and Sailor Moon was definitely on American television.

Yes, just to clarify. Foreign animation is OK. So long as it was aired in the States.

(Sailor Moon has an awwwwwwwful dub, though)

I used to be a fan of Sailor moon, it was always on after school right before dragon ball z. And I enjoy it now because of the horrible dub.
