I went to the Metalocalypse show last night here in STL. Mastodon fuckin' tore it up. They played Crack The Skye from start to finish and a couple tracks from their previous albums: Blood Mountain, Leviathan, Remission and Call of the Mastodon. If any one you have the chance to check out this tour, make sure you definitely do!!
Oh, and Dethklok wasn't bad. If anything, they put on a pretty comical performance. Brendon Small is the man though!!

Are you shitting me? They actually played something from "Call of the Mastodon"? Oh, hallelujah! I can't wait for 11/13, when I see them in Austin.

That's awesome, man. The new album is sick. How was High on Fire? Their new album is ridiculous too. Unfortunately, their tour isn't coming around here, I'd be on that like chin-chan on peter sellers.

I wasn't too big of fan of High on Fire. I saw them as more or less a rehash of what has already done. Nothing too original, and a little bland. That is however being stated, only after their setlist. I have not listened too any of their studio recordings. So, don't crucify me quite yet. I may be singin' a different tune then.

Check out their newest (I think) one called "Death is this Communion". I've listened to some youtubage of them live and I'm not really feeling it. Sure, its not necessarily Crack the Skye brilliant or new, but its still a solid blend of stoner and metal.
I totly get a boner for this, though.

rockin'! As I thought, the studio work sounds a hell of a lot better then their live performance. I geuss it's more because they weren't real engaging while they were on stage. Rock on though!!
