Hey I have been trying to figure out the name of this cartoon for a few years based on my vague memories of it. I will give you these memories and hope someone can ID it based on such:

This cartoon was on in the late 1980's and early 1990's, unsure what channel but I believe it was on network TV saturday mornings. All I can really remember is that there were these people on this ship and the sea was red in the opening. That is all I really remember. If anyone has any possible leads based on this vague description of the suspect please contact your' local FBI field office....er.....I mean post them here.

Thanks!

THATS IT!!!! Oh my God I thought I would never know. Dude this has haunted me since like 1998. Thanks. That was an epic ID relative to the absurdly vague description I gave. Kudos to you sir, I am very much in your' debt.

Your welcome! It's kinda funny because the only reason I thought of it was that I obtained the complete series very recently. I have had movies that have eluded me for years as well( took me about twelve years to find this movie called The Mouse and His Child) the only memory I had to help me find it was that a rat lost his teeth (sigh lol).

Oh God I loved this show so much as a kid.

Since we're on the subject, I'm correct in thinking the show ended before the plot was resolved, right? Wren never found all the Treasures?

that bugs the crap out of me. Confused

In totally unrelated news I found out today that Fabulous Films will be releasing Spartakus and the Sun Beneath the Sea in the US relatively soon (Sry wasn't going to start a thread for something 2 other people probably care about), this is great news for any old..old school fans of Nickelodeon, having this will practically complete my extensive retro video collection (Excluding a complete collection of ABC Weekend Specials).

ha awesome. Out of curiosity what does your' retro collection include? I have just begun to build mine with Seasons 1 and 2 Pete and Pete and also seasons 1-5 Simpsons. I am trying to find other shows that were more obscure (like pirates of dark water).

This is the best news ever...almost...maybe. But I did love that show and have been trying to find episodes all over with no success. Let us know if you hear anything more about it. I had all of the Mysterious Cities of Gold before my computer got zapped.

I wouldn't think Freddy's Nightmares had been officially released, as the majority of them were awful. I'm probably wrong though because plenty of garbage get's officially released these days. That episode of Freddy's Nightmares with Brad Pitt was dreadful.

I saw C.O.P.S - Fighting Crime In Future Time on DVD. Kinda wish I bought it.

I used to have Banjo The Woodpile Cat and Disney's Halloween Treat both on VHS... both taped off the Disney channel. I'd kill to see those again.

Yeah unfortunately the bulk has never been released on DVD so the majority are Polished bootlegs but what has been released on DVD I bought(I am not going to wait 50 years to get my childhood memories back though). Syd I got news that's going to make you very very happy then

http://www.amazon.com/Banjo-Woodpile-30th-Anniversery-2-Disc/dp/B001PLNR6W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1256162477&sr=8-1
buy it directly from Don Bluth himself, I sure did Very Happy

Disney's Halloween Treat is on Youtube a little work with a flv converter/Windows Movie Maker and WinX Video Converter and you could have a pretty decent copy (I got mine from a old vhs tape my dad recorded off the Disney channel and had a professional restore it)

David The Gnome was a great show, used to like Eureka's Castle too. I wonder what kind of crap Nickelodeon plays nowadays. Does SNICK even still exist? I used to wish my house had a big orange couch.

I couldn't tell you what they air now but I can assume the majority of it is garbage, I just wish they went with their original plans and had a Nick Rewind Channel that played the 80's and 90's stuff, I think the kids would enjoy it a lot more than the fluff they have on now.
