Well, I'm not a huge fan of Toby Keith per se, but I do love country, and I like a lot of his songs. I'll definitely be checking it out after it hits the stores.

God dammit. Are bots the ONLY OTHER PEOPLE IN THE WORLD WHO LIKE COUNTRY MUSIC????
Although, one would assume a bot would spell "new" correctly.

How are we quantifying what "Country" is? If we're generalizing then I'll have to say I'm a fan, mainly old fogie stuff (Johnny Cash, definitely Cash. Waylon Jennings, Hank Williams, Marty Robbins, etc.) not much of the uber "proud to be a hick" stuff of today (what a broad brush I paint with )

Bobby Bare Jr. pwns the living hell out of Toby Keith. My friend always says, "You may not like them, but I'm sure they're SOMEONE'S favorite band/artist".

Thirding, though I have to say Brad Paisley rocks tits and plays guitar like a motherfucker. Especially on the most;y-instrumental "Play". That album took balls, that's for sure.

I am also in the old timers boat.
Give me Nelson, Cash, Jennings, Williams Sr, Wynette, Pardon, Gail, or Kristofferson any day over all the pop-sounding shit with a twang.
Also, now that you mention it, you're right, most country songs now are only about how happy they are to be a Country Boy/Girl, Redneck, etc.
It's like white rap.
Rappers "sing" about how happy they are to be gansters, superstars, and/or black.
Country Singers sing about how happy they are to be Rednecks, Hicks, Yokels, etc.
You would never hear a (Good) Metal band sing about how happy they are to be metal, and/or hardcore.

With the exception of the Manowar corollary, of course.
On subject, I do love a lot of old country too. But I have no problem with most modern country, except for the "pop" country singers who think that they're singing country just because they put on a fake twang.

And Judas Priest, and half the songs on "Kill 'Em All", and a few others that I can't think of off the top of my head.

This is the 4th time this same user has made a post about a band or singer like this not to mention he actually made TWO about Marques Houston. The other time he was plugging a Uwe Boll movie.

It's obviously not a person. Come on Mods, why is he still here?

Toby Keith and every country star like him are bad for music.

Yeah yeah I know. And yet I can't help enjoying his music. I HATE "The Angry American," and yet I can't bring myself to turn it off when it comes on the radio. I always end up singing along with it like an even bigger jingoistic, redneck ass than I already am.
*sings* "...Cause we'll put a BOOT in yer ass, it's the a'MERC'N way..."

I 100% doubt any redneck would ever use the phrase "jingoistic".
Oh yeah and WHY IS THIS THREAD STILL HERE! WHY IS THIS POSTER STILL HERE?!?!
When someone posts about conspiracy theories in General it's immediate action and a special thread devoted to it pertaining to new rules. Here we have an actual spambot that somehow has been allowed to post 5 times. Lurkers see stuff like this and it makes the forum look laughable and without moderation.
