Mine is this:

The game is a fun console FPS, and deserves about 70% of the praise and accolades it got. But, if we get a GoldenEye sequel that isn't a piece of shit, and actually is as/more fun than the original, then Halo is screwed.

Halo 2 is a Fine fps. Good storyline, good single player,Great multiplayer. smooth graphics. good fun. horrible ending.

Halo 1 is an absolute piece of shit, plain and simple. Halo 2 is an all right game. It's fairly generic and it can't hold my attention the way some of the more clever FPS games can, but it's not a bad game by any means.

Halo 1 sucked, plain and simple. It was generic. XBox needed a hit because it was terrible and Microsoft was losing money. MS Fanboys needed something to justify the money they paid for that piece of crap console. They needed a hit, and any crappy FPS can usually do the trick. People love shooting the shit out of things.

Halo 2 is what Halo 1 would have been if they had actually put time and effort into Halo instead of rushing it out to try and save the console. Halo 2 is mediocre at best.

The story was great.

I liked the action too, especially since I like to use the plasma sword instead of a gun.

Imagine if you will, your a super soldier sans personality. Neo from the matrix personality. The military has unofficially decided your a bad enough dude to take out a totally-not-ripped-off ring world thing, the titular halo. Or some shit, the plot doesn't appear very much. Anyway, you accomplish this by running through a set of hallways/rooms that serve no purpose except to house aliens to shoot. Then, you run through the same damn hallways/rooms over and over. The enemies consist of wussy little cannon fodder, generic alien soldier, and big guy who charges you to reveal his weak point, beating final fight in lackluster enemy selection. Then there are a bunch of little evil alien plagas or something. I dont know, I dropped out before that. I watched my friends play the rest.

I mean the Halo series are alright games, but you don't have to talk about it like it's the worst fucking piece of shit on the planet....

And trust me. If Halo 1 is as bad as you all demonize it to be, there are way worse FPS games, and games in general, on Microsoft's Xbox.

All of you are demonizing Halo 1 and Sorry, I'm not inclined to agree with you.

I mean, yes, Goldeneye can kick the Halo series's ass anyday. But it's 2 generations old. It's lost it's luster.

Wow, I'm saying a lot for a person who hasn't played much FPSes, you know, being on the Japanese side of gaming and all....

I've only enjoyed playing it with 15 other people in massive group battles. On its own, I wasn't too thrilled. However, neither game I've owned or gotten far. Good voice actors though.

I found Halo 1 to be moderately entertaining in co-op, but it had pointless and tedious deathmatch. Three cheers for playing the same map for 3 years, driving around in gay vehicles and whoring sniper rifles.

Halo 2 is what I call Halo Map Pack. All they did was weaken the weapons and rehash a bunch of shit.

I played through the main story of Halo 1, just to say I did. It was alright, but nothing special. The multiplayer, on the other hand, kept me and my buddies happy for quite some time. We had not had that much fun playing a multiplayer FPS on a console since Perfect Dark on the N64.

Winbee is cool, though I prefer doitsu (the little green stick man that rides a paper airplane in parodius).

And, some of my dislike for halo 1 comes from the fact that im not much into the FPS genre anyway.

People in this thread are only hating on halo 1 because they have halo 2 to compare it to. It's kinda like comparing apples to a fruit nobody has ever heard of.
