If someone says "My favorite show/one of my favorite shows is Family Guy", I automatically know their taste in humor is awful. It's the Dane Cook of animated sitcoms.

Fuck, King of the Hill is better than Family Guy.

Anyway, I would look forward to such.

I like Family Guy and I like Dane Cook, and KotH can lick my ass crack. Embarrassed

Family Guy has its moments imho, but really that's all it is--moments, interspersed with a lot of filler/unfunny stuff. Peter is too much of a Homer Simpson ripoff (while being infinitely less likable and interesting) for me to really enjoy his stupidity. Brian's the only one who delivers consistently funny lines and Stewie, while his shtick was funny for a while, is rather stale. My two cents.

I'm excited for Futurama though. Its a great show. It was never appointment viewing with me, but I definitely make an effort to watch it when its on. (The Star Trek episode is one of my favorite episodes of any TV comedy, ever.)

Dane Cook's "humor" is unfunny, trite, terrible and banal.

KotH is boring.

So that makes my sense of humor awful? Because I tend to think that my sense of humor encompasses a very grand scale. However I dispise "Frasier" humor.

See, now I *adore* Frasier. Favorite sitcom of all time. Confused

Finally some more KOtH love, it's Hanks conservatism and reserved nature in a world that is not so much that makes the show so beautiful.

Also his relationship with Bobby is always pathetic/hilarious.

Family Guy's humor is almost purely referential, or self-referential, so if you're less than knowledgeable about pop culture, or general knowledge, then you won't get most of the jokes, and won't enjoy the show. Also, keep in mind that different people find different things funny. I personally enjoy very dry, referential humor intersparsed with a whole lot of non-sequitur, which is why I love shows like Family Guy and MST3K. When you understand the references that get thrown out, it makes it feel like an in-joke that they wrote just for you, which makes it that much more special.

Other people like obvious, cliche humor found in movies like Norbit or Paul Blart, some like gross-out, outrageous humor like in South Park, intellectual humor in Frasier and Big Bang Thoery, political humor, etc

Whichever one you're into speaks a lot about you and what you have to say about life, but don't communicate any kind of "taste in humor" and anyone who thinks such is just a pretentious dickhead.

Hopefully Fox will one day get there shit together once they see that a lot of shows they cancel keep coming back due to fan demand. 2010 is looking to be a good year with new Futurama episodes and an Arrested Development movie.

I like Fraiser and Dennis Miller. I used to watch Jeopardy and chase it with Beavis & Butthead.

Ok, fox is not to blame for arrested development. Let's just kill that right now.

I just read that the producers of Futurama couldn't reach salary agreements with the voice talents. They're looking for new actors.

That means no more Billy West (Fry, Professor, and Ziodberg), Katey Sagal (Leela), John DiMaggio (Bender), Maurice LaMarche (Kif Kroker, among others), or Tress MacNeil (Mom, and several others).

Just pay 'em or cancel the new episodes!

Yea, this pisses me off badly, in fact I don't even want to watch the show without the likes of Billy West, he is that show.

This sucks, I was so stoked about the new Futurama too.

I don't get where people come from with that; other than them both being fat and stupid, how is Peter anything like Homer? They have completely different designs, they're stupid for different reasons (Homer because the writers have forgotten how to write him as an actual character anymore and Peter because he's actually retarded), they have completely different jobs, completely different personalities, etc, etc, etc.

Like is it because they're both fat, stupid and hang out in bars? So is like half the male population of America. If we're going to call Peter a rip off of Homer, we might as well call Homer a rip off of Archie Bunker or Norm or a hundred other sitcom characters in the past.

New Episodes of Futurama to Premiere in June (with all of the original voice actors)

Last year, news broke that Comedy Central had ordered up new episodes of Futurama to air in 2010 (with all of the original voice actors). Well, guys, it is totally 2010, the year we make contact and the year we get to watch new Futurama episodes. And now it's been announced that the first 12 episodes will begin airing in June with more to follow. That's like three months from now. Get excited, nerds!

I just hope it's like it never left. A lot of times things aren't as good once they've been gone for a while.

I'm curious how it will play out since Frye and Leela confessed their love for each other. I hope they don't make an excuse why it didn't work. The whole serious lead up to it. I hope it continues or I'll be pissed.

Seeing as a large amount of the stories revolved around Fry trying to snag Leela I wouldn't be surprised if they canned it and started all over again.

Why wouldn't they? They've done it several times before.
