If I can get close enough to get in, you bet. I wanna take a photo of myself next to the glass casket etc.

Also, let us know how your boss reacts to 'Hey, can I get off early? I have to attend Michael Jackson's funeral.'

Apparently 7 am is the earliest I can get out, they're having some kind of bigwig come by to make sure the store is clean or some shit. Will try and rig it up somehow between now and then though.

So, while relaxing before bed last night, I watched the E! special on MJ, and his death finally truly hit me for the first time, since I was on vacation in Vegas when it all happened. Then again, he's been effectively dead in my mind for the past 20 years when he started acting so damn weird. Still, watching it reminded how much I loved his music in the 80s. God, I love that decade, what a wonderful time it was to spend my childhood.

So you have to sign up for tickets, and it's a random lottery. There's only 17500 tickets to go around, and they're not putting the tribute up on video screens or anything outside Staples.
That makes me debate whether it's worth trying to go down there. The news says close to 1 million people will try though. That would be neat to see.

Uhm, is my impression or MJ's family is actually capitalizing over his death?

Michael Jackson: may your soul find the peace it never had in this life.
I still think Thriller is the coolest video EVER.

I just saw the Smooth Criminal video yesterday and it is very badass.
The video for Rock My World is also great, he starts dancing on the bar and smashing glasses and shit.

The video for "Say, Say, Say" might be the worst thing I have ever seen in my life. Also, the lyrics make me not want to finish my taco.
(Paul)
"Go, Go, Go where ya want
But don't leave me
Here forever
You, You, You stay away
So long girl, I see ya never"
Gag me with a spork.

That's not MJ's fault though. That's Paul McCartney's fault.

Yeah, move over for the James Joyce of lyrics:
Beat It, Beat It, Beat It, Beat It
No One Wants To Be Defeated
Showin' How Funky Strong Is Your Fight
It Doesn't Matter Who's Wrong Or Right
Just Beat It, Beat It
Just Beat It, Beat It
Just Beat It, Beat It
Just Beat It, Beat It

I'm not making fun of MJ, I was poking fun at Paul's goofy ass, I should have clarified.

Have you ever read James Joyce? That's at least as good as any given passage from Ulysses, if not better.
