I don't think I've ever met anyone who likes U2. Funny how they're like one of the most famous bands of all time. I'm not a fan at all.

EPIC FAIL. Why not just throw Pink Floyd and Black Sabbath on there too? I'm thinking you just don't like classic rock in general, if you don't like four of its most important acts.

I'll second U2, with a caveat: some of their earlier stuff like "Sunday Bloody Sunday" and "Mysterious Ways" are cool.

First of all, Black Sabbath is awesome. And second, the only band up there that I really really hate is AC/DC. I guess I just never really got in to The Stones or Led Zeppelin, oh, and Pink Floyd too.

There's a difference between liking a band and liking two songs by a band. I can name a few tunes by U2 I don't mind too.

I think U2 is the most notable one for me as well.

The first 20 times I heard that super shitty song "Viva La Vida", I thought it was U2. Someone eventually told me it was Coldplay.

So 20 years after U2 is dead and gone, Coldplay will still be around ripping off the tepid pop rock sound first crafted during the truly awful part of U2's career. That shit is so overproduced, it makes Hysteria sound like a demo tape.

Neil Young. You can tell me he's a great songwriter, but some songwriters shouldn't sing. Dude, did someone kick you in the balls before the tape started rolling?

Beatles, AC/DC and Rolling Stones for me. I just don't enjoy the music.

At this point, I'm pretty sure I'm the only person on the forums that likes U2.

You take that back. Evil

I could never get into AC/DC. Lately I've been trying not to just dismiss a band because I don't like the vocals, but AC/DC's vocals are terrible to the point where they become downright distracting and I can't bear to listen to them anymore.

Also: Lynyrd Skynyrd, KISS, Creedance Clearwater Revival, Fleetwood Mac, and Rush.

I don't know... I actually like most classic rock.

I have to agree with Syd's post in saying Yes. they're the classic one-hit wonder, and I'm not particularly fond of that one hit.

I also am not fond of U2. I don't classify them as 'Rock' though, especially not of the 'classic' variety

However, I am Justice, and am therefore smarterer than him.

Heart of Gold is probably one of my favorite songs ever, his voice is an acquired taste though.

Kansas, America, Chicago...pretty much any band that is also the name of a state and or city.

Also, any band that has a name similar to the dog from Wizard of Oz.

America and Chicago have one good song each. Kansas has two. And Toto doesn't qualify. They're so shitty that you just don't mention them. Kinda like how no musician ever mentions The Beatles as an influence because it's a given? Yeah, just like that but with shit.

This may be heresy here, but I never really cared for Led Zeppelin. I think it might be more of a retroactive fanbase I'm backlashing against (if I hear one more person a decade younger than me talking about how influential Zep is, I will tell him to erect a wall of dicks and scale it assfirst.) than the actual band itself, but Jesus.

I never liked Motley Crue much either. Especially now that it's basically all about King Dong Tommy Lee.

I grew up in the South though. I was surrounded by far more CCR, ZZ Top and Skynyrd than I ever was anything else.

Not only is that not right, that's not even wrong. It's a meaningless statement. Saying something is "one molecule away" from plastic is like saying a farm is one letter away from a fart. Water is "one molecule away" from being explosive hydrogen gas.

Aerosmith is probably my number 1 hate in classic rock. After that I'll say The Eagles.

I agree on the Beatles. I respect what they did, but never really got into thier music.

AC/DC, I have never liked. To me, the singer's voice (The current one) is like nails on a chalkboard. Also, their songs just seem too commercialized. Like they wrote them because they knew teenagers would eat them up, not because they were trying to create art or anything else.

Lynyrd Skynyrd - Nope
Eagles - Nope
Led Zepplin - Nope

Those are about the only major ones I can think of that I don't like. Other than AC/DC, I don't hate any of them, but just never really got into them. If their songs come on, I just switch to the one of the other rock channels in town.

I don't really listen to too much classic rock bands but now as you've asked this question, I can only instantly remember one band and one song - Scorpions - Rock you like a hurricane. I hate it.

I think Led Zeppelin is pretty overrated. I like Led Zeppelin IV, Houses of the Holy (probably my favorite), and Physical Graffiti but those are the only albums by them I've heard and really like. You could probably make a pretty compilation from their first three but there are lots of songs I don't like. I really respect them but I'm tired of their hardcore fans raving about how they're the "GODS OF RAWWWK". I'd take Sabbath or especially Queen over Zeppelin any day.

I listened to Are You Experienced once or twice and didn't think it was too good other than "Purple Haze" or "Foxy Lady". Maybe I need to listen to it more but I'd have to force myself. I'd have a hard time with that when I could just listen to some Iron Maiden or something. I respect Jimi Hendrix for pioneering the modern guitar technique but I'm not a fan of his work.

I consider myself a casual Pink Floyd fan but a lot of their material is boring for me when I'm not in the right mood and not doing something else at the moment. When I am it's amazing but I'm not usually.

There are a buttload of other classic rock bands that I'm apathetic about. Really anything that isn't heavy, catchy, or didn't play a part in the development of hard rock (I'm using this as an umbrella term that includes metal, punk, post-industrial and stuff like that. I'm not using it to describe metal bands that don't play a thousand miles an hour as is common these days.) I don't care enough about to listen to. Stuff like The Eagles, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, etc.
