I don't understand why he's been saying that The High End of Low would be more aggressive like Antichrist Svperstar was, I've heard all the tracks on myspace and with the exception of two they're all slow and plodding. There doesn't seem to be any bite to them, nothing seems that angry or heavy.
The way I look at it there's three categories for Manson's albums.
Classic
Portrait of an American Family
Antichrist Svperstar
Mechanical Animals
The Last Tour on Earth (Great Live Album)
decent but not much new
Holywood (felt like a mash up of the ideas and sounds from Antichrist and Mechanical too me)
Smells Like Children (Three awesome cover songs and a bunch of weird audio loops and remixes)
Remix and Repent (again just a bunch of remixes and some live stuff)
Lest we Forget (more cover songs and a best of collection)
blah
Golden Age of Grotesque (Some new ideas when it comes to lyrical structure and delivery, but not the best album in the world.)
Eat Me Drink Me (lamest title ever, cheesy little goth pop record that isn't half bad but not what you'd expect from Manson.)
I have a feeling that the new one is going to be in the decent but nothing new or blah categories.
