Love Fleetwood Mac, not so much the Eagles though...I definitely understand your thinking there.

I dig Fleetwood Mac a lot, and also am a pretty big Eagles fan, although I don't really like Don Henley, as he is an egotistical fuck.

You know, 5 or so years ago you could've put Limp Bizkit here, but I for one am getting a huge amount of satisfaction in the extreme backlash Fred Durst has gotten lately.

Not only is that not right, that's not even wrong. It's a meaningless statement. Saying something is "one molecule away" from plastic is like saying a farm is one letter away from a fart. Water is "one molecule away" from being explosive hydrogen gas. |

I'd say any free-form jazz, personally. I think the only people that praise it are the weenies jabberring on about Brubeck at record stores.

So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind. |

Kings of Leon. I mean, what the hell? I've heard so much praise about this band, so when I downloaded a few of their songs...I haven't heard such generic and boring rock since the last time I heard a Gin Blossoms song.
EDIT: This pretty much reinforces my hit-and-miss results from following Rolling Stone's advice.

Jazz is there for the people that need a little more out of music than a catchy riff and a beat. I like jazz because of its musical complexities and potential for more unique expression, although don't get me wrong, there is shitty jazz out there just as there is something shitty in every other genre.

LP's first two albums were good, and then they somehow managed to lose all their talent and make really shitty songs

Yeah, Jazz is musician's music. When I hear jazz, I appreciate it because i'm in awe of the composers knowledge and ability in composition and thoery. I guess all the technical aspects of music. The biggest problem I have with jazz is that most of it doesn't really evoke any sort of emotional response to me aside from, "Boy this guy is good at music" Though there are exceptions. I generally like the older cats like Mingus and Davis.

Youtube the name Stanley Jordan; that guy is wicked good. We saw him at the a jazz club in Times Square a few days ago. He should have won Ross' "Best Guitar Player." Also, he plays the piano and the guitar at the same time...and plays them like a bastard. You have to respect the musicians that know the theory.

so Syd, let me get this straight. You don't like jazz because it reminds you of long car rides to grandmas house, during which you would fall asleep? Dude, its called being in a car for too long. I could be listening to Darkness fucking Descends, which for the record sounds like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BtRDX9gBeRc
So I could be listening to that, and halfway I will fall asleep! Everybody falls asleep in the car after a while, even if your driving.

I have developed a hatred for Tokio Hotel. They are an overrated german loved by every girl with fake angst in my school. It's not so much them I hate as it is the fans.

I can think of two bands that fit this category for me. The first is The Who. My taste in music is very broad, but there is not a single Who song I like. I dislike it enough that I mute the T.V. during the opening of any of the C.S.I. shows. Hearing The Who is like nails on a chalkboard to me. The second is Nirvana. I saw them the first time on Head Bangers Ball of all places with Smells Like Teen Spirit. Strange since they ushered in a age where every other band that was on that same show was considered to be crap after the grunge rock movement.

Hmm...I see what you mean Blackout. They are a fantastic group, all very talented musicians, but yeah, they shouldn't have ever been made out to be Gods and subjects of American Eagle t-shirts.

I love the Who, but I completely understand this .
(goes back to the drawing board on making Neon Knights the theme song for his TV show...)

Yeah. Even though The Who is one of my all-time favorite bands, I can understand why someone would say they are overrated.

The Royal bangs. I know next to crap about them aside from the fact that I don't care for their music. My friends seem to get chubbies for them and talk about them way too much. I guess that doesn't really make them overrated, however around here alot of the hipsters tend to talk about them alot. Does anyone know what the hell is so good about them? I'd really like to know.

Lol, you say that as if being on an American Eagle shirt is akin to reaching the pinnacle of the music world. Oh and for the record Ray Manzarek is the shit and there is not one thing overrated about that man, Jim Morrison might be another story altogether...
