I'm not that good on the electric bass. So don't put me up on that. If you want me, it's gotta be for the Contra-Bass which is my best instrument. (Contra-Bass = Double Bass for those who don't know).

That works M3GA, because you're the only one that plays that.

I'd need a LOT of practice (or a guide track) to do vocals on anything, and my piano skills are abysmal. Two semesters of group piano does not make me competent by any means. If you need bari sax, I can easily play it if I can get ahold of one (The fingerings on all of them are the same, alto and bari are just E flat instruments whereas tenor and soprano are B flat, but I don't imagine I'll need to do much sight transposing so it's not a big deal, lol).
As for recording the tracks separately though, how many people honestly have a 4 track lying around or an audio card on their computer that actually has a port for their SM58 mic?
#edit: I should mention it's a cool idea and I'm down, just thinking about the feasibility of it.

Yeah, I guess as long as you have a computer, mic, and pre-amp (which is how I do it, it has patch chord and XLR inputs, and a USB port, AMAZING device) then it's simple enough to record a track on Audacity, then send it off in e-mail to the next person.
And I wasn't sure about how baritone/tenor/alto saxes worked. That'd be effing great if we could have all three. Thansk Jeebus

Yeah, we could send each individual track back and forth or whatever, that would work swell.
I could use my little multi-track to master the drums, then load each .mp3, .wav or whatever format we decide to distribute (preferably .wav) and master each track individually as well.

Josh dude, what brand is that big condenser? I think I have the same one! That 4-track looks pretty pimp. When we decide upon a cover to do (I'll start a thread/poll very soon, everyone give me suggestions!!) you can lay something down. I'm thinking every instrument should be first come, first serve. And if say one drummer lays down a track before another drummer, we'll figure something out for the other drummers.

You know, if someone will let me have access to the necessary equipment, lives less than a 3 hour drive away from New Orleans, and is willing to put up with me for a couple of hours, I'd do it. Haha.

Not only is that not right, that's not even wrong. It's a meaningless statement. Saying something is "one molecule away" from plastic is like saying a farm is one letter away from a fart. Water is "one molecule away" from being explosive hydrogen gas. |

Ok, well, I'll start a thread with a poll. I'll list three potential covers and an 'Other' option. Then if I have to, I'll start a second poll with like 'runner-up's
