So I love them ok? I'm obsessed with their ridiculously catchy choruses, thought-provoking (though sometimes cliched) lyrics, the guitarist's really unique hooks, and just the overall fun they project into their music.

And I totally want to marry their lead singer.

Does this make me a poser? Stupid? Gay?

I've only heard two of their songs. They are in Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero World Tour and I've enjoyed playing these songs.

I hate how overplayed, insanely commercial and avrilish they are. My little sister likes them, enough said...

I don't like them. And while you're definitely gay, it's not for liking them. I fucking hate hipster douchebags who refuse to like something just because of its popularity or critical acclaim or whatever. Sometimes shit is popular for a reason. Point is, liking what you like honestly makes you the opposite of a poser (didn't know the kids were still using that word) it's just being yourself. I get plenty of shit for liking certain things in my catalogue, but so what, fuck them.

I've only heard the two songs on Guitar Hero/Rock Band, and they're not bad, "Misery Business" is really catchy. It's the kind of thing that I'd put on my IPOD if I got their CD as a gift, or if I downloaded it on a whim one day, but I'm not really gonna actively seek it out.

Hipster Douchebags suck.

Also, I was drunk when I posted this thread.

But I still love them, I don't care. My only issue is that, see, I'm usually really pleasently surprised when I go to a concert by a non-hard rock/metal band, surprised at how rocking a show can be. But I fear that I would be retartedly out of place among the hordes of 12-year-old girls... Confused

Those are the only two songs I've heard by them as well. The other being from Rock Band called "That's What You Get" or something along those lines.

I feel sorry for the singer, who will probably be getting banged by all of My Chemical Romance and other shitty bands in the near future.

I always feel like shit when I see a younger girl get thrust into the music industry because she usually just does whatever she is told, and her "really creative songwriting" is probably a bunch of douchers in sideways baseball caps in sitting in their million dollar studio with equipment they will never use writing ideas on scraps of paper in between snorts of blow.

Whew, but they are OK.

hehe, my friend went to a Good Charolette concert with his then girlfriend and he said it was about 90% tweenage girls, so I imagine your Paramore scenario would be very similar. Difference is I suspect this guy to be a closet pedophile, so he probably felt less awkward than you will. If not, shame on you. The band sounds familiar I'm hoping the lead singer is a girl Ross. Burt, Canada gets all our old saying years after they become less mainstay here. Laughing

The lead singer is a girl yes, and she's a fucking babe. And in terms of the whole 'poor girl' thing, I think part of the appeal for me is that they definitely operate as an actual band instead of a hot singer and a bunch of nameless douchebags playing powerchords on songs written by David Foster.

On their latest album, every song is credited to the singer, Hayley, and the lead guitarist, save for one that was written with help from the rhythm guitarist, and two that had help from the producer. Other than that, you see the singer's and the lead guitarist's names on every song.

And they're actually like, talented and shit.

Every song of theirs sounds similar and the lyrics are pretty gay. That being said, the one song that all the other ones sounds like is catchy.
