Since we've got threads on Maiden and Savatage, figured I might as well start one on Queensryche too.

These guys are fantastic. Operation Mindcrime is my second favorite concept album ever, behind Pink Floyd's The Wall.

I love Queensryche. What is funny is that my favorite album is Empire. I think that is because that was the album I got when it was new, when I was a kid, and how I was introduced to them. Great songs on every album though, and I love the wail and yet perfect pitch of Geoff Tate's vocals are some of the best in the business.

Empire is pretty fantastic too, the title track in particular.

"Silent Lucidity" is the song that got me into Queensryche. Though I live in MA, I am able to get a couple of NH radio stations on my radio and I tend to prefer them because they play more of the stuff I want to hear. Both of them do block party weekends, where they play three or four songs by an artist in a row, and one of them would sometimes cheat and do "hair metal" blocks and use it as excuse to play random 80s bands that didn't have a lot of big hits without doing a full block of any particular one. So I happen tune in one day, and they were play "Silent Lucidity", and I thought it was a new Pink Floyd song. Then I Googled it and found out it was a Queensryche song from 9 years prior. I went out bought Empire the next day, and I loved it. Operation: Mindcrime followed shortly thereafter, as did Rage For Order.

Silent Lucidity was my second lullaby, behind 'Sweet Child O' Mine'

Empire is one of my favorite albums of all time.

Empire was the second CD I ever got. Back in like 92 or something. I still have it too, it's been a few years since I've listened to it.

I like all of Queensryche's old stuff. I didn't like Empire at all though, but everything before that is awesome. The Warning is probably my favorite album by them, and if I ever made a list of the top metal albums of all time it would be on there. Every song is good on The Warning. My favorite songs by them would have to be Speak, Spreading the Disease, Eyes of a Stranger, The Lady Wore Black, Walk in the Shadows, I Dream in Infra Red, The Killing Words, Chemical Youth, NM 156 and Child of Fire.
