I saw this yesterday, and it was pretty damned good. it had plenty of over-the top gore...i counted at least 3 decapitations, one dude burned alive, people shot with guns and arrows. it paid homage to escape from new york, mad max, and excalibur of all things. and the chick had a removable eyeball with a camera in it

I saw the preview for this movie. Wasnt it called Escape From New York? And wasn't it released like 20 years ago?

I thought this looked pretty good. Hope to see it soon.
And erock, it's better than a straight up remake of Escape from New York, which unfortunately they're also making.

From the 20 second blurbs i saw i didn't get to see too much. They talked about Closing up a section of the country and sending in someone to retrieve something. The people do look like Mad Max people now that i recall it. Its like they just crammed the two together.
Well the theaters here show brand new movies on sat/sun morings for 5 bucks so maybe ill check it out.

its from the same guy who did the descent...you know, about the hot spelunker chicks who get attacked by cave dwelling albinos. he doesnt go for art, just pure schlockfest. the area walled off is all of scotland, right where hadrians wall used to be. what surprised me most was malcolm mcdowell as head of another sect of baddies not shown in ads, basically a medieval one living in a castle. theres a great fight against a big dude in armor with a spear and morning star vs. lead action hero chick (unarmed). and the leader of the mad max inspired baddies is great, especially during the car chase scene towards the end.

This movie sounds good, and I hope to GOD the Escape From New York remake was dropped.
EDIT: Hey, wait a minute. I just looked this up on Wikipedia and I remember wanting to see it. The previews looked pretty sweet. Would you recommend it?

It was sarcasm indicating that hoping to God, in actuality, will do nothing.
