This could get tough.
1990: Pantera-Cowboys from Hell
1991: Red Hot Chili Peppers-Blood Sugar Sex Magik
1992: Pantera-Vulgar Display of Power
1993: Morbid Angel-Covenant
1994: Pantera-Far Beyond Driven
1995: Down-NOLA
1996: Pantera-The Great Southern Trendkill
1997: Foo Fighters-The color and the Shape
1998: The Offspring-Americana
1999: Foo Fighters-There Is Nothing Left To Lose
2000: Pantera-Reinventing the Steel
2001: (tie) System of a Down-Toxicity/Linkin Park-Hybrid Theory
2002: Mastodon-Remission
2003: Linkin Park-Meteora
2004: Mastodon-Leviathan
2005: Clutch-Robot Hive/Exodus
2006: Mastodon-Blood Mountain
2007: Brad Paisley-5th Gear
2008: Motorhead-Motorizer
Note the relative lack of variety of metal. This is because mid-'90's and 2000's "metal" largely sucked ass, with the exceptions of Pantera, White Zombie, Mastodon, etc. Also, '92 was tough. I went with Pantera, but Obituary's "The End Complete" gave it a hell of a run for it's money. Also, 2007 was tough on Obituary as well, narrowly losing out to Brad Paisley. I almost for got to put Down in '95, otherwise White Zombie would have won. I was very surprised to learn that I own only two albums from 2003, and I like Meteora better than Lamb of God's "As the Palaces Burn". Also, I didn't count compilations or live albums.

Going by my WMP files, which don't have even a percentage of my total albums, so some of these are fill-ins as I don't know a lot of my favorite albums' release dates, or I don't have anything where the years are blank.

1989-Operation Ivy-Energy
1990-Primus-Frizzle Fry
1991-Violent Femmes- Why do Birds Sing?

1989: Hard choice! I'm thinkin' 'Trash' by Alice Cooper, which narrowly beats Skid Row's first album, 'Cocked and Loaded' by LA Guns, Tesla's debut, The Cult's 'Sonice Temple' and 'Headless Cross' by Sabbath.
1990: Judas Priest- 'Painkiller' (no contest)
1991: Another really hard choice. 'No More Tears' by Ozzy, with 'Use Your Illusion I and II' in a close second/third place.
1992: Black Sabbath- 'Dehumanizer' (another super seay choice)
1993: Guns N' Roses- 'The Spaghetti Incident?' (shitty year)
1994: Green Day- 'Dookie' (my first ever cd)
1995: Slash's Snakepit- 'It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere'
*A Side Note: 1995 was a very shitty year for the music industry. We lost Jerry Garcia, Ingo Schwichtenberg, Selena, Shannon Hoon, and Eazy-E; Living color and Kyuss split up (though we know what came out of that); NSYNC, Nickelback, and Slipknot formed; and MP3s started to move on the internet.*
1996: Weird Al- 'Bad Hair Day' or Rage Against The Machine- 'Evil Empire'
1997: The Offspring- 'Ixnay On The Hombre' or Marcy Playground's eponymous debut.
1998: Another shitty year. Stabbind Westward's 'Darkest Days' or Everlast's 'Whitey For Sings The Blues' I guess.
1999: Collective Soul- 'Dosage'
* The Industry was clearly dying at this point *
2000: Iron Maiden- 'Brave New World'
2001: Weezer- (The Green Album)
2002: Good Charlotte- 'The Young and the Hopeless' (I don't care, this album helped me learn a lot of very unexpected things about life.
2003: Switchfoot- 'The Beautiful Letdown'
2004: Van Halen- 'The Best of Both Worlds' (This compilation is the reason I picked up my guitar again and haven't stopped since)
2005: Switchfoot- 'Nothing Is Sound' (Honourable mention to 'Red, White, and Crue', which is like, the memory of my 16th birthday)
2006: Switchfoot- 'Oh! Gravity'
2007: Suzie McNeil- 'Broken and Beautiful'
2008: Wow. There hasn't been a musical year this great since...1991! I actually don't even know what to pick...we'll go with 'Chinese Democracy', but 'Saints of Los Angeles', 'Along Came A Spider', 'Black Ice', 'Death Magnetic', 'Nostradamus', and Suzie McNeil's 'Rock-n-Roller' are all very close behind!

PA is like the bubonic plague... It just keeps spreading. York PA is famous for its shootings, robberies and muggings. Like a small New York - key word 'NEW'.

PA is awesome in a lot of senses, but yeah, it's got that problem where people just don't give a damn. I went to Shamokin recently, where you're surrounded by just these poor-ass, beat-up, coal-stained houses everywhere you go, but you'll always see the mayor's clean, pristine mansion above the town. I have to say that I've loved living in Centre County for the past 10 years though.

Greg and Sideways, clutch pick on Pinkerton. I got lazy and only listed that and the blue album, but Pinkerton has to be the most listened to album I have ever owned. Nothing tops it even after all these years.

Yeah, the final few tracks are especially awesome. The ending from El Scorcho to Butterfly is just the best ending to a concept album I've ever heard.
