Itunes pops up, and when I plug the ole ipod in, my playlist doesn't show up, it doesn't charge, nada. I reinstalled itunes, so I think it's just the ipod, but I'm holding my breath cause I don't want to buy a new ipod.

Which version of the shuffle do you have?
Although have you changed the USB plug? Dock station? If you have the original shuffle with the USB plug built in you might be out of luck.

My suggestion is go to an Apple store and ask if you can try one of their docks. If it's the same problem, then at least you're in an Apple store where you can tell them to check it out further. If it does load, than it is the cord and, hey, you're in the place that sells them. =P
