They just had this advertisement on TV about some "14 horror films for the price of 1 ticket" thing down at the movie theater. Either they're new movies (and they do look new in the preview), or I've never heard of them.

For those sorts of things, they need to roll out this old chestnut...

This makes me wish I could host my own Friday Night Frights double-feature on public access.

Or if that doesn't work out, they should bring back Monstervision.

Another hobby I had for a while was collecting junk. That's about it. I took things like wooden door stops, drawer handles, broken pieces of marble tile from school. I figured hell, if I'm paying for an education, I should get the junk for free.

Yeah, it's a great 1950s-era matinee trailer thingie that's now in the public domain. I used a lot of it in a promo I did for a film fest in 2004 that featured two of my short horror flicks, Dead by Dawn 1 & 2, plus a rescored version of the silent film The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari with industrial music.

And for those who might be interested, here's the promo:

Incidentally, I no longer own the domain marathonoffright.com. It's someone else's now.

Only a few. Smile

From C-23. This one is just retarded.
Oh that Hemlocke!

Some more Ultimate Combat:
Front Kick

Bad Sushi
Did I forget to mention that there a few support item cards in UC? They're all really terrible images. Just photos with filters over them.

I don't have that many cards worth sharing because it really is a hit and miss thing. Sometimes there are only slightly wacky looking packs at the store which turn out to be a whole lot of nothing, and even promising looking packs are misleading. The martial arts cards were a total gem and I don't expect I'll find anything like it again, but if I do, I'll post it.

Wow, that Bad Sushi card would be absolutely broken in M:TG, depending on the casting cost.

Also, is that Jackie Chan on the Front Kick card?

Well, there are and there aren't. There's a card called Hymn To Tourach from like 10 years ago that for BB forced an opponent to discard two cards at random. It is generally considered to be an awesome albeit incredibly broken card. These days, random discard is all but dead. Aside from a few reprints, modern M:TG discard is opponent's choice.

Yeah, they really leveled the playing field in Magic. It's really balanced now. That's a good and bad thing.

There never was an image here, what the fuck are you talking about?

Jackie might have been desperate enough to be in a porn or two back in his early days, but I doubt he'd stoop so low as to be a part of a half-assed card game. Laughing

When I was getting my feet wet with Magic (trading a Hollow Trees for someone's Scaled Wurm!!!) I bought this box of cards from a hobby shopstore going out of business. It had a bunch of Magic cards, plus 2nd edition D&D cards (including some Spellfire), X-Files, Hyborean Gates, SimCity, and Legend of the Five Rings among others. The only other CCGs I really gave a chance with were Shadowrun, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Pokemon.

I used to collect stacks of those paper ketchup things, circa junior year of high school. I had friends that would work at fast food joints and knew of my knack, so I ended up with about 200 stacks of 50 paper cups apiece. I wanted to build something with them, but my mom made me throw them away.
