Basically, they have spammed so much votes that Rick won a nomination.

Now they're on their way to victory. Let's count.

Their script votes about 1.5 times a second.
There's 3600 seconds in an hour.
3600 * 24 = 86 400 seconds in a day.
There are 35 days left.
86,400 * 35 = 3 024 000 seconds left.
3 024 000 * 1,5 = 4 536 000 votes.

Four and a half million votes from a single person in a single day.

This is awesome.

You should totally check out the IRC channel.
While you're at it, go check out my band, Her Majesty's Heroines.

I assume they'll discount anyone who votes that many times. I know that people tried stuff like that for the MLB All-Star game voting, and the votes were just eliminated entirely. Then again, MTV is retarded so they'll probably let it fly.

A one hit wonder up for Best Act Ever????

And, the rest aren't much better.

Britney Spears
Christina Aguilera
Green Day
Tokio Hotel (WHO?)
U2

I don't think any of them are worthy of such a title. The best pick out of them would be U2, and even then, I don't know if I would put them in even the top 10 of Best Acts Ever.

There's already a thread for this, I think in general.

How exactly are they defining "best act?"

With those nominees, I sure as hell hope they aren't implying "best artist/band ever."

I hate contests where you can vote as many times as you want.

So dumb.

I hope Rick wins, I put in one vote for him, though compared to 4 million it isn't going to matter.

The thread title is confusing. I think that's why it was duplicated.

Voting as many times as you want doesn't make any sense. I have never seen any mathematical support or any logic in general as to why somebody would implement such a system. This means that one person could have 5 fans compared to another's 50,000 or whatever. But, out of the 55,000, the one with 5 fans has that one CRAZY fan, who doesn't do anything all day but touch his/herself to pictures of said 5-fan person, they sit online or whatever and plug votes away while the other 54,999 people have lives, jobs, and a sense of decency.

The more I think about it, the more I get pissed off. RAH!

I hate that system too. It's the reason some f*g-bag Rascal Flatts song was my grad song, as opposed to 'Freebird' which everyone told me they voted for...
