I concur 100% on that. The whole appeal of Roseanne was that it was a non-sugarcoated everyday family with everyday problems. Once the final season began (where they won the lottery), then the show lost its biggest asset - its identity as a middle-class family going through the hardships of life. |
I dont think them winning the lottery ruined the showed, I think the way they handled it ruined it. They had plenty of opportunites to make some great episodes with the rich conners mentality vs the working mentality they use to have in dealing with problems but failed to do so. Instead it was just one big mess of a show that became a parody of itself because the cast was so bored of it by that time and ready to move on.
