This may sound blasphemous, but as someone who's been a huge fan of punk since middle school, I never liked the Dead Kennedys. It might be because I had to hear the intro to Police Truck anytime I played Tony Hawk or half the CD's I'd buy at shows insisted on having the band's cover of Holiday in Cambodia on them. Then recently, I caved in and used Ruckus (music "renting" service for students at participating colleges) to download "Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables," on a whim, and I ended up loving the "pissed off super left-wing" lyrics sung with a weird happy cynicism, against the backdrop of the creepy surf guitar. I'm just wondering if there's any other stuff out there by them that I may like (If there are any fans out there).

So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind.

In God We Trust Inc. is a great album, especially the songs
Moral Majority
Nazi Punks Fuck Off
We've Got a Bigger Problem Now

Frankenchrist is great as well listen to
This Could Be Anywhere
At My Job

and Lastly but importantly Bedtime For Democracy, the whole damned album is great

If you like the Dead Kennedy's then I would say also check out Screeching Weasels, Bad Brains, Minutemen, MDC, DRI, and of course Black Flag.

I love the first three bands there, can't stand the last three (Personal tastes, I'm VERY picky when it comes to hardcore).

Hell, I'll listen to the Nazi Punks song just for nostalgia's sake from seeing those weirdos at shows. Man, I know the difference between oi skinheads and nazi skinheads, but you still look like a douche either way.

If you like DK, you'll probably like Mario as well.

Also, Jello BBIAF's solo stuff and various collaborations are pretty good.

What? No mention of Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables? Wait, it was mentioned. Nevermind. In God we Trust Inc./Plastic Surgery Disasters is a great disc that I've listened to many times. Frankenchrist as well, but I didn't like Bedtime as much as those three. Give Me Convenience or Give me Death has a lot of songs from previous albums as well as police truck, I haven't listened to it, but Buzzbomb, California Uber Alles, and Holiday in Cambodia were all on previous albums so I haven't bothered to check it out in its entirety.

The Dead Kennedys are probably my second favorite punk band, with the Misfits being my first. While I only have their "Fresh Fruit" album, it is absolutely killer in every since of the word. Two other songs that I absolutely love, but don't technically own, and Nazi Punks Fuck Off! and MTV-Get Off the Air. Killer music with a message I can get behind. I also dig how they were actually proficient at their instruments (especially Klaus Flouride), as opposed to a lot of other punk bands who couldn't play for shit. Pity that they (just like the Misfits) insist on carrying on past the departure of their mainman.
As for what else you could check out, I'd go with Misfits, Discharge, Minor Threat. Of course, you'd said you were a huge punk fan, so you've probably heard these bands before, but they're still worth a recommendation. If you liked Screeching Weasel, I'd advise checking out the Descendents.

The Descendents are fucking awesome. Milo Goes to College is right up there with Zen Arcade and Double Nickels on the Dime as one of my favorite punk albums. Misfits (Danzig era) are awesome, as well. Minor Threat, I just can't get into. I don't mind heavy stuff (I listen to a lot of Crack Rock, so yeah), I just can't stand the bands who have singers heaving after every three words while the band plays noise music out of tempo for 50 seconds (Personal tastes, but I see how people can like them).

Hell, I may as well just change the topic title to some kind of punk/general since there's not much besides metal on this board.
