Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting
#10: Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting

Released In: 1993
Developer: Capcom
Publisher: Capcom

Play as one of twelve fighters - Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Dhalsim, Zangief, Blanka, Edmond Honda, Guile, Balrog, Vega, Sagat, or M. Bison - in this faster, slightly more refined version of the original Street Fighter II.

Syd Lexia: If you've learned one thing from this list, it should be that Street Fighter II was crazy popular in the early 90s. Then again, you probably should have already fucking known that. It's not the best game, especially compared to everything ranked 11-20, but I'll be damned if I didn't spend a combined total of 2,856 hours playing various incarnations of it between 1991 and 1995.

One thing though: why the fuck do all the characters have an alternate palette as their main costume? That's fucking gay.

Valdronius: For me, this was the definitive Street Fighter game for the SNES. Not only did you get to play as the bosses from the original, you also got to do so at ridiculously fast speeds. Juicing it up to max speed gave people like me a fighting chance at beating people who actually didn't suck at fighting games. If they don't have time to react to my random attacks, I just might win.

Murdar Machene: I don't acknowledge broken ass, non-perfect arcade translations. Anyone who said they were good at this version sucked ass at the real game on Genesis.
