Released In: 1994 In the year 20XX, the 1st Annual Robot Tournament is held. Eight of the world's most powerful robots are entered into the tournament but as the competition draws to end, they are stolen by Mr. X, the tournament's mysterious sponsor. Mr. X then announces that he has reprogrammed the Robot Masters to do lead his robot armies on a path of world domination. Can Mega Man defeat Blizzardman, Windman, Flameman, Plantman, Tomahawkman, Yamatoman, Knightman, and Centaurman and stop Mr. X's insane plan? Probably. Also, Mr. X is really Dr. Wily. Oh, like you couldn't tell. His disguise isn't even almost clever. Syd Lexia: This game probably made the list as a result of lazy voting. The game came out during the twilight years of the NES, when the Super Nintendo had already been out in North America for two and a half years. In fact, the game came out so late in the original Nintendo's lifespan that Capcom decided not to release it in the US, opting instead to focus on promoting Mega Man X. Since Nintendo Power contest winners had designed two of the game's Robot Masters, Windman and Knightman, Nintendo was forced to publish it themselves. This game offers virtually nothing that other Mega Mans don't already give you and quite frankly, this spot would have been better served by a game like Strider. Valdronius: Mega Man 6 is the 6th installment in the Mega Man series. I thought about just leaving it at that, but the game deserves more than just an obvious statement of fact. The robot masters were mostly pretty lame, but if you’re a diehard fan of the blue bomber, it’s still a fun game to play. Rycona: This is the only NES Mega Man game I ever owned... and probably the one I played the least. |
