Another recurring feature in MAD is Sergio Aragones' MAD Look. In these textless comics, Aragones picks a theme and runs with it. This time around, it's music instruments. In the first scene, a boy is playing football with his friends when he sees his dad drive by, presumably on his way home from work. The aforementioned boy then hauls ass home and gets to his room just in time to pretend he's been practicing his violin all afternoon. Unfortunately, he forgot to take his football helmet off. A decent enough comic, if not somewhat anachronistic. See, I was a kid in 1990 and I didn't know a single kid who played football for fun. We played Nintendo, and when we were forced to go outside, we played games, not sports. Still, I can empathize with the general point the comic is making; I got busted plenty of times for playing Nintendo when I should have been doing other stuff. You know, like sleeping.
