So my friend and I are driving by this guys house today and he's throwing a box of videotapes away. We simply asked what they were, you know expecting the normal "pornos" response. But nope, it was every fucking pay per view of the wcw and wwe from like 1996-2000. I guess the guy converted his whole set to dvd so he just gave them to us, well to my friend. but i was there haha.

WCW was the shit back then.

Kickass. Now it's your turn to convert them.

Yeah, WCW was good for a few years, until Russo completely ruined them. And now Vince is doing the same thing with WWE.

Yea, I swear it's just that they've simply run out of good ideas. Like when I was younger, I only dreamed of seeing WCW vs. WWE guys. Then it happens and it's fucking stupid and boring and not to mention faker than ever (although its always been fake, but they can't even sell it now). I sometimes will find myself watching and then something totally stupid happens and I remember why I lost interest.
All I know is that watching old "Souled Out" and "In your house" events is way better than shelling out 60 bucks for a stupid PPV.

Those WWE ones are defintely keepers, since they are pre-blur out everything that says "WWF". Also, they have not been chopped to remove things Vince doesn't want you to remember...Like Chris Benoit.

Oh man, we were watching a WCW tape and Benoit came out. It was like a weird feeling seeing him wrestle like nothing ever happened. People cheering for him and shit.

They are going to try and remove the memory of Chris Benoit? Didn't his injuries help him go over the edge?

I noticed that in the anthology stuff, they played over certain entrance themes with something generic as well. Hell, they played over Cactus Jack's real theme.

His brain looked like that of an 85 year old man with Alzheimer. Still, Vince doesn't want the WWE to be associated with a murderer.

WWE just doesn't want steroid accusations thrown at them again.

Wait a minute. Who the heck is Chris Benoit? (yes, this is a f'n joke)
Anyways, you have pure gold in VHS form. If you find any interesting botch, send it to a certain guy in Youtube and he'll be glad to add it to his video series.

This also made me remember about Jed Shafer, the guy who writes 'alternative' wrestling angles. I kinda felt sad to see that if the Montreal Screwjob never happened, it would be WCW that'd buy off WWF for a bargain, for example.

On WWE 24/7 On demand, durring the Monday Night War epidsodes, they cut out all of Benoit. It's weird watching Four Horseman angles, when there are only three Horseman. (Flair, Milenko, & Mongo *sic*)

Also, now whenever they show the greatest Wrestlemania moments, you will never see Benoit & Eddie hug, which they showed all the time, before his death.

The problem with the modern WWE is that there's no camp anymore. You don't have gimmicky wrestlers or gimmick matches. You have a bunch of half-naked guy with 6-pack abs and too many tattoos punching the hell out of each other with the occasional irish whip, suplex, or submission. If it's a PPV, then MAYBE something cool MIGHT happen. It's boring as fuck. It's like watching MMA, which I find to be dreadfully boring. But at least in MMA, the guys really beat the shit out of each other.

That's why I like TNA. They're willing to do the campy bullshit that made me fall in love with wrestling in the first place. Now if only they'd give Shark Boy a title run...

Anyway, congrats on the tapes. Great acquisition.

I agree with you on that, Syd. Well, except I don't pay any attention to TNA. I'll take the stuff from the late 80's to the mid 90's over today's stuff.

By the way, I have a friend who won WrestleWar '91 on Ebay or something, and he put it on DVD for me. So now, I can watch Pillman get destroyed by Sid's powerbomb over and over again.

I have the Benoit RAW Tribute on VHS. I should get that transfered to DVD.
