I find beatboxing to be completley retarded, yes, these people that do it do have talent, but don't waste it on that bull shit. What they should be doing is learning how to sing, or something useful that someone could use in a band. Beatboxing is just another form of rap, and rap sucks.

When was making funny noises with your mouth not awesome? That's the entire reason I watched all those Police Academy movies.

Sound effects = Fun & Funny!
But that isn't really what beat boxing is all about. It is much more about a stage presence and music.
I could totally dig an impressionist making funny noises. That isn't retarded, it is awesome!

Beat Boxing does to serve a purpose, how are all the freestyle crews supposed to practice without beats? Have you no heart?!

Rycona, that guy was both impressive and insanely retarded.
I still don't know which attribute gets more points.

It depends on whose doing it.
If it's Doug E. Fresh, Biz Markie, or Reverend Run, then yay.
If it's anybody else, fuck them to unholy hell.

Or Will Smith.
Anyway, hell yeah, I love beatboxing. if it's longer than 2 minutes though (like in the first vid) I can't stand it. Anyone who's seen Men In Black II will remember this awesome scene:
How Biz did the second part is beyond me.

I approve of the idea of beatboxing. It certainly takes talent, and I know I can't do it. However, whenever I hear it, it starts to lose its luster and get annoying after about 20 seconds.

I was not aware Will Smith was capable of beatboxing.
Oh yea, Rahzel too, I forgot about him.

I dunno, I guess I have an appreciation for it because all of the percussion on Bjork's fifth album, Medulla, consists entirely of beatboxing (the entire album was created with modified vocals). Some of the stuff beatboxers can pull off is amazing; check out Bjork's "Who Is It", a song in which the beatboxing was recorded entirely in one take.
