I don't know about you guys, but I was a huge fan of Max Payne 1 & 2 (the movie, not so much), and I've been waiting since I completed Max Payne 2 for number 3 to be released. It looks like winter will be good to Max Payne fans.
I read about this in my new issue of GI. It looks pretty fun, I never got into 1 or 2 but I might buy them now.

This looks like it could be badass, although I feel that sort of gritty tropic locale has been so much recently (Farcry 2, Uncharted, etc.)
Oh well, I wonder what new shooting gimmick they are going to introduce.
Yea, I feel you on the played out setting. I was a bit disappointed to see that they went with the sunny tropical setting as opposed to the dark urban setting of the first two game. As for new game play elements, here's some news that was released about 2 ago.
http://www.gameplayer.com.au/gp_documents/090613MaxPayne3.aspx
They mention that a cover system will be implemented but will not be the focus of the game and that human shields and more destructible objects will be included.
This release (from game informer) http://www.gameplayer.com.au/gp_documents/090611MaxPayne3.aspx says that multiplayer is set to be included also. Although multiplayer could be fun, I really hope that they focus more on the story/singleplayer mode.

I love Max Payne to death, and I really hope they don't fuck this game up. C'mon, Rockstar, show Marky Mark who Max Payne really is.
And they'd better not remove the film-noir style monologues.

I'm kind of disappointed that James McCaffrey won't be returning as the voice of Max.The new gameplay looks promising, but I hope they don't depart too far from what made the first two games great.

That buzz-cut, ultra-machismo look is getting really popular in games.

I haven't seen any actual video of it, I was referring to the Game Informer article.

Well, since the frat crowd is getting into shooters, they're probably happy to see more and more characters look like themselves.

That makes sense. I don't care for the look but then again I'm not really into shooters (except for Medal of Honor: Underground. Being able to fight Maria Antoinette as the Statue of Liberty with a crossbow was a lot of fun.)

I hope they give you an option to have the trenchcoat back. Hell, I'd even DLC the costume.

I was sort of joking. You see it a lot. We look at some mustachioed detective from the '70s and laugh, a feathered-hair action star from the '80s and laugh, a buzz cut Doomguy/Duke Nukem from the '90s and laugh, and in a few years we'll all wonder why all of our action heroes nowadays all looked like the dude from Prison Break.

That's true enough. I suppose you're right. I guess that look is the new millennium's contribution to the action hero.

Holy shit they're gonna render the bullets?? In real time? (You know, as opposed to just calculating the trajectory and maybe showing a trail). This sounds like a lot of effort just for some awesome kill cams :/

Ok, so who scooped this up?
I did on launch and it's ultra badass, shooting people in the face in slow motion has never felt so great.
I might when I can afford to. This game looks awesome and Rockstar's kind of been on a roll lately.

I'll be honest I wasn't even aware they were making this game until like 2 or 3 days ago. I imagine that given how the first two were pretty good that it probably is as well, but I can't afford it right now.
I'd have to buy it for PC anyway since I'm terrible at aiming in shooters using controllers and with my PC getting a bit sluggish on newer games I'll probably wait to buy it until after I've built a new one.
