What are your favorites?

I just discovered Bitches Ain't Shit being covered by Ben Folds, it's pretty hilarious. A more mellow sound with rap lyrics, it just sounds funny.

For GNR, don't forget Live and Let Die.

Also, did you listen to Alice Cooper tonight? For Cooper's Covers he played War Pigs covered by Faith No More.

Off topic, he also said (jokingly) that rock bands should trade members like sports franchises. One band trades their lead singer for another, but they have to trade them their bass player. He then suggested bubble gum cards for rock stars and bands.

GNR has made a LOT of covers. I just picked my faves. 'Live and Let Die' is great, but not a favorite. And I forgot 'War Pigs', that one's great. And Cooper's show is just a billion kinds of kickass. I'm actually going to try and send him my album(s), because he's one of the people who's opinion I value the most.

Plus you know, maybe he'll play it if he likes it enough Wink 'Crocodile Rock' for Cooper's Covers anyone?

Aside from a few of the aforementioned covers:

The Melvins with Leif Garrett- Smells Like Teen Spirit
Alanis Morissette- My Humps (fucking HILARIOUS.)
GWAR- School's Out
Pennywise- I Come From A Land Down Under (I love this one and the original... shut up. I was the ultimate 80s kid.)

Not only is that not right, that's not even wrong. It's a meaningless statement. Saying something is "one molecule away" from plastic is like saying a farm is one letter away from a fart. Water is "one molecule away" from being explosive hydrogen gas.

Jimi Hendrix - All Along the Watchtower

I like a few others, but man oh man... the original doesn't even compare to what Hendrix did.

I guess I'm the only one who prefers the Dylan version of the 20 or so songs other people covered of his. Not to say I don't really like the others, I just usually prefer the originals, same in the case of the Misfits covers.

I'm a huge Dylan fan. I do like Jimi's version of Watchtower better. But when people say it is way better, they make it sound like Dylan's version isn't that good, even if it was not what they mean.

A funny story. We have a couple of friends who are Jehovah's Witnesses. My friend sometimes dedicates an All Along the Watchtower cover to them. He changes the words to Handin' Out the Watchtower.

OH BUT CAM! Clones was NOT originally by Alice Cooper!!

And in terms of LEAST favorite covers, definitely gotta go with the Pumpkin's version of 'Dancin' In The Moonlight'

OOH! Ozzy's version of 'Sympathy For The Devil'! I love GNR's too, but knowing the history surrounding the recording kinda kills it for me. Confused

GAH...gotta keep my facts straight...

What's wrong with Dancing In The Moonlight? Sure, SP changed it around a bit (actually, quite a bit) but I love the way it's so somber...

See, I hate that. The original has a groove to it, and that solo is just too great. It's no longer danceable in the Pumpkins' version.
