Ok, since my going rate for a full-length LP is $10, how much would you pay for a 6 song (no new material, all covers or a possible remake) acoustic EP?
I want to release something with my friend Melanie for the summer.
How much is acceptable?

Depends on several factors, one, how well the band/artist is, two, CD content, three, how many copies are produced. For example, I bought the One Day as a Lion EP, which contend fives original songs but the front man was the lead singer of RAtM, so I ended up paying ten dollars. Latter a I bought Str8 to Video: The Remixes, which had fifteenth remixes, a vocal track, and an instrumental, but I only ended up paying five dollars due to it being the same song over and over again, and the remixes done by mostly unknowns.
Since you are just releasing your first album, this album should probably be on the cheaper end, five dollars sounds fine, but it is up to you.
Also, sorry for the block of text above, it is late and I felt the need to write about CD and prices.

I hate EPs.
I really hate EPs.
Put out a second album and add a bonus track or wait until after your third album.
CD's barely hold enough music as it is, EPs stay in my CD player for about 20 minutes and then I have to change it out again. It is annoying. I keep them in the CD case and never listen.
Please don't put out an EP.

I'm putting it out because it's 'Ross Rifle ft. Melanie Rogers'. And in a way, it's a concept album. It's ok, it's non-canon, you don't have to buy it

For aa 6-song EP, I'd pay $5, unless it was something I really, really liked and/or had longer songs on it.
We ended up just handing out our EP for promotional purposes, but our following was very limited at the time, so, it was necessary, though we did get a few sales.

It is fine if you just want to offer via digital distribution.
I just hate EP CDs.

I'm sort of against EP's too, but you should put it on your second or third album if you do put it out.

Go off of the .75 - 1.00 per song rule.
6 Songs for 5 bucks seems more than fair.

Could you, uh, have that in addition to disc format?
If it was just digital distribution, I wouldn't be able to download it...

50 million dollars.
No, I'd pay $5 too, considering the going rate for most is over 10-15 tracks for about, well, $10-15.

$5 dollars is expensive enough. Though if your EP just so happens to be titled "Haunting The Chapel," I'd bump the price up to $7.50.

I think I'd pay $7.50 at the most. 10 bucks is a little expensive for a six song EP.

im w/GP on this one. EP's are a waste imo.
i understand your logic behind it and what not, but i would go for the cheaper end and pay $5 or just go for the digital download
