So I'm in the process of (trying) to watch a horror movie for every day of the month. (Yes Im a nerd, fuck you) And I came across this one that definately deserves a shout out. The Tenant by Roman Polanski. Damn, I nearly shit myself in the last half hour of the movie it was so intensely terrifying.
For those of you who haven't seen it, definately check it out if you're into a good psychological "mindfuck" horror film. The premise of the film is about a man who rents an apartment that was previously owned by a lady, who, just threw herself out of the window of the very apartment this movie takes place in. As the movie progresses, the antagonist slips further and further into lunacy, which involves crazy delusional hallucinations and paranoid feelings towards his friends and fellow tenants.
God, how I love old school horror flicks... *siiiiiiiiiiigh*

I remember seeing this. I got it from a used movie store and my parents didn't like it so they took it back. I thought it was pretty good though.
What other stuff do you plan on watching?

That kinda explains your Leatherface icon.

I just saw that! I've been meaning to make a thread about it but I keep forgetting. It was great, but the ending was too similar to Pan's Labyrinth.

I like M3GA's list. Some I have. The ones I don't are on my list of movies to get. But I probably won't have them by Halloween.
If you are watching one per day, don't forget The Shining.
I've got I Spit On Your Grave. I haven't watched it yet so I don't know. But I heard it was fucked up.

I've always really diggged the 70's horror movies. They were modern enough to have artistic liberties that some older films couldn't do with the gore and whatnot, but they still had that old creepy film that indirectly adds to the atmosphere. Horror movies these days are all too polished looking. I wan't everything grainy and gritty, makes it seem more real to me.
Oh, and to King: Old Boy and Audition were excellent movies. I really dig the Asian extreme flicks, but I don't really consider those too much of horror flicks. If you want to see some stomach turning shit check out the Guinea Pig series flicks. Nasty stuff. Tetsuo the Iron Man, is borderline horror, but it's got a kind of art house feel to it. Good film none the less.
