I want you to tell me about what classic bands you think revolutionized the music world. I am talking about the Beatles, Led zeppelin, the Doors, Aerosmith, Rolling Stones. Which band not only did it the best but had the greatest impact on the music world?

Grim Reaper. Seriously, "See You in Hell" is a classic etc

I'm puzzled by the premise of this thread. Someone like Elvis had a huge impact, but he stole from black musicians, so did they have a bigger place in history than him, since he wouldn't have been as huge without their influence?

James Brown was pretty revolutionary for breaking down the color barrier, along with Chuck Berry, he was very accessible by a wide cross-section of people, regardless of race.

You do bring up a good point. I guess i was being a little one sided on this premise, but we can't forget the originators of many of the styles that we saw over the years. Blues and Jazz singers were probably amongst the greatest innovators, but then again even they had inspiration coming from somewhere else.

Robert Johnson revolutionized blues-guitar playing.

I'm going to go with Pink Floyd for perfecting the concept album idea because, in the end, Sgt. Pepper's isn't really a full concept album and I think Tommy lets in crappy tunes for the sake of the concept.
Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, and Animals were perfect in regard to concept albums.
The whole of the albums were great, it was abstract but the connections could be made, and it didn't put in crappy filler to make it work.
I don't include the Wall because, although a great album with many great songs and a good idea, it has some crap to fill in some of the story line.
A good concept album doesn't need to be a literal story line but a connection of ideas about a single topic.

And Jimi Hendrix revolutionized it again 30 year later.

Exactly, they were influenced by their own personal hardships.

So in retrospect there really isn't any truly original styles unless you go back to like when music was first invented.
