I don't get it. People on the internet say it was Greedo, but I notice a distinct lack of fried Han and living Greedo.

Okay, Han shot Greedo before he could get a shot off. Lucass just digitally put greeto shooting first into the 'redo' of the originals.

yeah, in the original it was han shooting first.
then w/the special editions, lucas changed it so greedo shot first.
fans complained.
so in the newest dvd's they shoot around the same time.

I always believed that Greedo shot first and missed and then a split second later Han fired and then Greedo died.
Either way I dont much give a fuck. I would probably watch a youtube documentary about it though.

I think lucas thought han looked too much like a scheming crook if he shot first, and an opportunist, which are not positive traits for heros. But han already was trying to get money out of anyone, even if the universe is at stake so yah it doesn't really make any sense.
What i would like to know is how people feel about the fact that the prequels left his origin out. I think that was the smartest movie by lucas. And what the hell is up with Chewy dying in the book series, no one wants the next Star Wars to feature the loveable furball dying.

Yeah, he was a big fat guy and had a few shots were taken with him as a fat guy, including the one where han walks in a circle around Jabba. Now this might not seem odd, but when jabba got his Tail, Han walked right through it, so SFX added a very jerky edit.

Yea, they could/should make a mini-documentary about it. Although it is like a 30 second scene, it says alot of Solo's character and can dramatically affect the way one interprets him. They could interview Harrison Ford and Lucas, it would definatley be interesting...
