It was good. Had lots of action, wise crack one liners and total disregard for sanity. The CGI was impressive and even though their was lots of it, it didn't feel as if the movie was being cluttered by CGI. My expectation of Hellboy are never as high as Spiderman so yah, the movie was decent, maybe even, dare i say decent. And koodos to Seth for providing the voice of the German Ectoplasma guy.
:Spoilers:
I thought the whole thing with humanity still being afraid of hellboy even after he saved the baby and killed the giant fern monster destroying everything was cliche and retarded. After being under the media's watch for a while, you'd think people would figure out that hellboy is on the good guy's side, who gives a troll's ass if he looks like satan. People only have "oh he's red and demon-looking" to back any claims of fear, there's no evidence of hellboy actuality hurting anyone. I know it's to add to the plot of the movie but if hellboy was a killing machine, i think those people in the street wouldn't be moving anymore. It's no wonder the movie hinted that HB would become evil.
Also, after stating that the prince and princess had a psychic link, images of dragon heart were blazing by my eyes and i foresaw her dying in the end in order to stop her brother. After how close she got to abe, you could have almost seen it coming.
One thing i am curious about, was the goblin the team meet towards the end of the movie the one who made the golden army? I think he mentioned he was and if so way didn't he give the damn things a weak point just in case someone evil got a hold of them?

I saw it as well. Good flick, to say the least. I think I enjoyed this one more than the first, even though the first was great as well. The movie did an excellent job at mixing action with comedy; there was neither too little nor too much of humor, just the right amount.
Also, perhaps it's just me, but I thought that beast who says, "Make the choice" sounded kinda different in the trailer. Meh.

The Angel of Death did indeed sound different. Also, the flames in front of the BPRD flow backward in the trailer, but flow naturally in the movie.
I really enjoyed it, (and I'll admit I like the tooth fairies enough to work them into my D&D game) and loved the little flashback to 1955 if for no other reason than to see Professor Broom again. The ending leaves things wide open for something brand new for a 3rd movie and as long as Guillermo's attached, I'll see it.
Seeing this has also lit the fire in me to track down his other stuff like C(h?)ronos.

The tooth faeries looked like winged versions of the Isz from The Maxx.

He sounded cooler in the trailer, unfortunately.

I'm not getting into all the reasons why I didn't much care for the first one or why I think this one looks stupid, suffice to say I really like the Hellboy and B.P.R.D. comics and thus most of the visual designs for the movies annoy me immensely (and some of the story points as well.) And no, it's not because II isn't based directly/loosely off an existing comic story like the first one was, I wouldn't care about that if it were done well.

Speaking of which, The Maxx needs a movie.
Sheesh I forgot about the Maxx, I used to have a bunch of those comics.

I really want to see this, considering I loved the first one. How does this stack up compared to the other super hero flicks released so far?

Alright, I just saw it and it wasn't as bad as I expected. I still don't like some things (Abe moving and acting like C-3PO, Johann's design and personality, the whole love angle, the "society fears you" angle), but the creature designs were pretty cool and the story was alright overall. Some of the humor was great, like Johann slamming Hellboy around with the lockers doors, but some was too over the top. Namely, the B.P.R.D. is not Men in Black, there aren't all these monsters and out of control situations going on like it's just another goofy day in America's most top secret organization! And I don't like Director Manning being a bumbling idiot. Oh, and Seth MacFarlane just does his Klauss voice for two hours for his take on Johann.
