Dave Mustaine gets fired off the roof from Metallica for his drinking and comes back with a band that out-guns, out-riffs and out-leads them! Killing Is My Business through Rust In Peace is arguably the most unassailable streak of thrash albums, and Killing through Youthanasia a great metal winning streak! Not to mention I always thought Dave Mustaine had the best well rounded vocals for doing different styles in thrash.
Favorite Album: Rust In Peace
Favorite songs: Peace Sells, Tornado Of Souls, Looking Down The Cross

Megadeth definitely beat Metallica in the metal game, hands down. Case in point: Four Horsemen vs Mechanix. I will say that I don't much care for Mustaine's vocals, but his guitarwork is definitely superior to Hammet's. Furthermore, Rust in Peace is, in my opinion, the second greatest thrash album ever (after Sepultura's Beneath the Remains). Also, let's not forget Chris Poland, Dave Ellefson, Gar Samuelson, Marty Friedman, Nick Menza, and all the other awesome instrumentalists of Megadeth. Awesome indeed.
Best album: Rust in Peace
Favorite songs: Rattlehead, Holy Wars...The Punishment Due, Mechanix, Peace Sells.

Ironically, I like "Four Horsemen" better, but that's because of that awesome slow section they added in the middle. Those are interesting picks for 1 and 2 greatest thrash albums though.

Marty Friedman is a much better lead guitarist than anyone on Metallica. Megadeth owns, and why weren't whiney little bitches like the couple guys in Metallica that sued napster

Are you wondering why they weren't complaining about Napster? And if so why do you care?

Megadeth is amazing. I just found out yesterday they came to Edmonton a month ago and I totally missed it. boo. Anyways, Dave's guitar owned the four horsemen but I much preferred metallica's vocals and lyrics. The Killing is my Buisness probably takes 3rd for best thrash record. I can't think what goes ahead of it but Slayer and Anthrax are both better enough than Megadeth that I'm sure they'd both have something above it. Also, Beneath the Remains is probably 4 or 5.
Best album:Killing is my buisness
Best song: Peace Sells

Buy the DVD "That one night" it's a great concert. Then watch the making of St. Anger movie "Some kind of Monster". It's sad what happened to Metallica, the last cool thing they ever did was S&M. I never understand it when peopl shit on Megadeth.

Metallica diehards are freaks. They're like so obsessed with Metallica that they hate Megadeth without hearing them. My buddy's like that.
I totally love Megadeth, I've had a Peace Sells poster on my wall since I was like 8.

Interesting. I mean I like that album too (their last great one IMO). Shows that Mustaine could make a change in songwriting from Thrash to the mainstream rock and still sound great in the process.
By the way I didn't mean to turn this into a Metallica bashing thread, 9 times out of ten when Megadeth comes up someone's gonna mention Metallica, shit I mentioned Mustaine's firing but that was to put it into proper context.

I love both bands, but in the long run I'd have to say Megadeth turned to be a better band.
