Personally I liked the newer one that 4Kids handled, which was later put onto Cartoon Network for a short time. It was closer to the comics.

I'll admit the newer one by 4kids (shock!) has it's moments but the original has one thing for me the new one never can fill . . . nostalgia.

Im a bit confused. The 80's cartoon was created was shown on cbs. Or do you mean the original 80's comics as opposed to the cbs show itself?

Yeah, the CBS Saturday Morning Cartoon was just later seasons of the syndicated 80s cartoon. It wasn't a different show. Same voice actors, same character models, same style. Some writers probably changed, but I doubt anyone cared/noticed.

The series that started in the 1980s ran well into the 1990s however the series animation was slightly different and could be confused as another TMNT altogether. And the final seasons of this TMNT did air on CBS during the 90s.

Then there was the 'Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation', a live-action show that claimed to be a running sequal of the 1980s show. It was crap and like many live-action shows that aired during the Fox Kids line up, it was short lived. But as i mention it air on FOX so i think the one lordsathien has in mind is the 1980s TMNT but the later years.

Let me just add that Lord Dregg may have been voiced by the late Tony Jay but he never could measure up to Shredder's status as a bad ass villain and I never cared for him. The only good thing he did was his scheming eventually brought back Shredder and Krang.

Gotta vote for my boy Rob Paulsen. Better known as the voice of Raphael.

Who the hell voted for Fast Forward??!!

And yeah, I guess I meant The Next Mutation, though I never saw any stuff. All I remember was this ongoing plot where the turtles would enter a secondary mutation, becoming massively muscled and ugly. But it was CBS Saturday morning, so I didn't usually watch.

The original that forever cursed Cam Clarke to be named Leonardo in my head. Liquid Snake? I think not, Leo! Twisted Evil

I agree. Similarly, watching the original dub of Akira was totally bizarre for that same reason.

Ditto!!

Cam also voiced He-Man in that 2002 version of MotU. Funny because he used the Leonardo voice for Prince Adam and the more masculine Liquid Snake voice for He-Man. What a range! Razz

Today at work we were divided into TMNT based groups and we all went on a scavenger hunt wearing headbands according to character. My group was Raph which i had no problems with. The problem i did have was one of the clues was to get a pack of M&Ms and we had to use the M&Ms to draw our characters weapon. Come on now everyone else would just make a straight line or with the nunchucks make it curved. Due to the fact iwas the only young guy in my group i had to make it. We came in second to the Michelangelo group by a second. Prize was dinner at a super nice restaurant.

Yes!

Sad Fact: I once dated a girl cause her name was KC. No joke, the first thing I said (or shouted) when she told me her name was: "CASEY JONES!!!" ... And, yes, the homoerotic irony is not lost on me.

Somewhere on the internet there is a picture of a hot woman dressed as Casey Jones. I'm not searching for it, for fear of what else I may find.

Your should probably just stick with getting your girlfriend to wear a banana yellow reporter outfit.

I liked the original TMNT cartoon for many reasons.

1. It is superior over todays Saturday morning cartoons in every way possible.

2. Bebop and Rocksteady.

3. Cam Clarke not only did the voice for Leonardo, but sang the theme song as well.

4. Uncle Phil from Fresh Prince did the voice of Shredder.

The 2003 series has nothing on the original series.

The only thing it has on the original is the fact its much closer to the original comics. It's a lot darker and the fact that the foot are not a bunch of machines is a huge plus. Raphael isnt just a one liner guy hes the angry homicidal turtle i always knew he could be. I too like the 80s series but only for nostalgia. It went so far off from the comic. Things like Leo decapitating Shredder is the stuff i wish i could see.

Not to give Cam Clarke all the glory, cause I hear Donatello's and Raphel's voices all the time too in shows. I just don't know those actors' names. Embarrassed
