For the few of you in the forums to remember television in the mid 80s, may recall the mini-series/TV Movie Sequel/Short Lived TV Show known simply as "V".
A modern day retelling of the Nazi occupation of Europe. How the Nazis enforced martial law, and hunted down Jews. And, of the brave people who formed resistance cells to combat thier oppressors.
Except instead of Europe, it takes place in the US.
Oh, and instead of Nazis, it has rodent eating reptillian aliens who deguise themselves as humans.
And, they are not hunting Jews, they are hunting down scientists.
And, the Beast Master leads the rebellion.
The original creator of the Mini-Series, has completed a new novel that takes place were his original story left off. (He didn't do the second film or the series. Instead he went on the create the Alien Nation movie and TV Series.)
The books is finished, and NBC has already snatched up the TV/Movie rights, and want to make a new Mini-Series.
Cool beans, huh?
So far there are a couple of tid-bits of info, regarding the new Mini Series:
Original V cast members Marc Singer, Faye Grant, Jane Badler, and Robert Englund were the first to sign on for the new mini-series.
Originally, Kenneth Johnson's screenplay had a running time of three hours. Eventually NBC permitted Johnson to expand his screenplay to a two-night, four-hour screenplay, which was subsequently submitted to the studio for approval.
This may even come sooner than expected, as the scripts have already been finished, and NBC is running out of new programming, thanks to the Writers Strike.
