If you liked any Castlevania's for Nintendo pick this up if you have a PSP. It's a shit ton better than that slow paced piece of crap that was on SNES(Not Super Castlevania...the other one). Plus there is an ass ton of things to find in it. Plus it's hard...lemme think what else...oh and it includes Symphony of the Night and the Orignal Rondo of Blood, which they say was never released here, it looks familiar though. Fuck I love this game.

I heard the emulation for Rondo of Blood was terrible. Is that true?

Also, when I get me a PSP (1000) in December I'm getting this.

I was totally considering buying a PSP again, just for this.

Then I heard the redone opening for SotN.

Sale -1.

Also, they fucked with the voice acting in some places... by redoing it.

I haven't unlocked SotN yet, but rondo of blood is the exact same game as the upgraded one you originally start playing except you have to find it hidden in a stage. Minus the alternate cut scenes and what not. A cool feature is when you unlock music you can make it play on certain levels by assigning it to the stage you want it on. Nothing Spectacular but its pretty cool. I'll keep you posted on my findings.

I've always loved the Castlevania series, however I really dislike the recent character design starting with Symphony of the Night, and from then on I could never really get into the series.

I've never been a big fan of Ayami Kojima's Castlevania stuff... why has Dracula turned from being a Bela Lugosi clone into a mustachioed elf-thing? and why has Alucard transformed from how he looked like in the Castlevania III instruction manual, into a frilly, long white-haired androgynous thing? But people constantly say that SotN is the best in the series, and that Rondo is second to none.

I guess I will have to invest in a PSP as I've had my eyes on this and Mega Man Powered-up for a while now.

Indeed your worst fears have come to realization. The voice acting is, for lack of a better word, not the same at all. Nothing is the same voice wise. Everyone that speaks or makes a grunt or howl is different. Not only that but the sound effects are different as well. To top it off some of the more holy lines from SotN have been changed like the opening with Richter and Dracula. Alucard's voice acting is horrible...HORRIBLE...they changed the deep voice for a younger...much younger crappier version.

Basically if you mute your PSP it's the same game though. The opening cinmatics are all the same with the exception of a guy speaking the dialog after you initially beat Dracula with Richter.

The "What is a man line?" has been changed and that alone might lead to a revolt amongst the fans. Men are no longer piles of secrets but CESSPITS. I still love this game though. Also the new Final Fantasy Tactics. I am enjoying that very much as well.

Even if they make a revamped Symphony Of The Night, PSP will still suck.

I played the Turbo-Duo CD version of Rondo of Blood, am I missing anything from the other versions?

As far as the PSP sucking yes, it's lacking in the game department. But it's a sweet system if your into RPG's.

Never played the Turbo Duo version so I can't really compare it, they call it 3D even though it's 2D with 3D cutscenes. The graphics compared to the Rondo of Blood original are awesome though.

Without derailing too much, there's a Disgaea game coming to the PSP if not already out.

I never saw the appeal of Discgaya. The art is pretty cool, but it just looks like a grindfest from hell with no reward except more grinding.
