Did anyone here ever like or still like the pokemon games? I looked up to page 7 and no pokemon topics. I am worried.

They were ok, but I prefered the more traditional RPG's.

When I was little, Pokemon was basically my life. I owned Blue, Yellow, Silver, Ruby, TCG for the GBC, at least 200 cards, the mangas and Pokemon info books, DVDs and tapes of the first 2 movies, a Pikachu doll (which I still have), everything. I don't play the games so much anymore because I'm a lazy fuck (I should get to Diamond and Pearl).

Each game starts very well, and the series started great, but after the first half of the game and the first few in the series it goes downhill.

For one, the story sucks. Nuff said.
Second, as the game goes on it becomes a matter of "Rocket Launcher Tag", where one opponent with a superpowerful attack thats super effective blast a hole in the torso of the opposing pokemon. Its a matter of who goes first and who has the right pokemon element out.
Thirdly, higher level play requires that you do weird invisible stat measuring and bizarre chains of breeding.

Its an okay RPG, but kinda bugged. I always liked magmar, the four trade evolving ones from the first game, and theres one called dusclops thats kinda cool in a weird way.

Every time a new one comes out, I always say I'm gonna finally catch all those little guys, and I never do. I was up to like 186 or something on Pearl when I sold my copy. One day, though...

LeafGreen (practically finished with it)
Battle Revolution (even used a code to get the Electivire from it)

The actual RPGs are pretty good. Stuff like Stadium and Snap are bullshit though.

My goal had been to get a team of six Mewtwos in Pokemon Blue/Red. I made it to 3 then I got bored.

I had Pokemon silver and some dood at my old job borrowed it and I never saw it since. I haven't picked up any Pokemon game since then. Since I am anal retentive, I do have to try to catch them all. That's probably why I havent bought another pokemon game.

I think the only one I ever beat was Silver. I almost beat Yellow with my Dad's help when I was in like, 1st grade. Unfortunately I was lazy and didn't want to fight the Elite Four, so I tried to catch one of their Pokemon with the Master Ball. Yeah...that didn't work, and then I didn't have a Master Ball. So we just sold it. Right now I have Leaf Green and Pearl. I lent Green to my friend so he could get up to the point where you can trade with Ruby & Sapphire since another friend lent me their Sapphire to take all their good Pokemon. He says he'll give it back right before it ends because he doens't want to know what the ending is. Come on dude, it's a freakin' Pokemon game, you KNOW what's going to happen. Anyways, I'm trying to catch 'em all in Pearl but I have this stupid habit that makes me want to have every Pokemon at the same level. So I've had the game since it came out and I only have two badges.

I never caught them all. I never tried to catch them all but I came really close on Emerald. I was less than 50 pokemon short of completing the pokedex. I bought my copy of Pearl back when it came out in Japan. I'm still not even halfway through finishing the dex.

Does anyone here do competitive battling? Shoddy, Netbattle, etc.

The only Pokemon game I ever had was Snap, and it was a piece of shit. I still beat that damn game, though.

Haven't beat one since G/S/C. I gave Emerald a try but sometime after the 3rd gym I got bored with it.

I only played red. Well i played snap and stadium but snap sucks and stadium is only cool if you put your own guys from a Gameboy cartrage in the mix.

I got my Charizard up to level 100 and it became so badass that even water types got boiled. It wasn't a matter of if he would win, it was a matter of how long before the other team got owned. And horns up to Syd, an army of Mewtwos would be sweet:

X6 = Badass-ism

Did anyone see the first mewtwo movie? I was disappointed, i was hoping for some more bad ass shit to happen like Mewtwo vader chocking ash.

I stopped after Gold and Silver. After seeing all this, I'd get back on it if I wasn't so sure the save battery isn't toast by now. I remember thinking the GBA versions would be lame and just ended it there. Of course there must be some deity that insists on me getting back on the bus. What makes me think this is a copy of Diamond that arrived at my house despite me not ordering it, and the box was bare so I have no idea where it came from or who actually ordered the damn thing. So now it's sitting in that box, still in its wrapping and beckoning me to play it just once.

I played the puzzle game for the GBA and used to be all about the show. I also had a shit-ton of those toys Burger King had, that came in the kid-killing Pokeballs.

I saw that the Target across the street from my work has redone their game section, and they have an entire aisle for clearance games. Pokemon XD was $14.99, so now I own Pokemon XD. I don't know when I'll actually play it, but it's good to know it's there. :p

I played up to ruby and sapphire(sp?).... then I thought "What has changed since I stopped playing?" and bought diamond....... and I'm sad to say IT WAS THE SAME GAMEPLAY...... It hasn't changed much since red and blue....
the only new things were:
The contests,
the berries,
the pokemon,
and the bad guys.

got bored with it and have yet to decide on what to do with the game....

Some dumb kid managed to get half of one in his mouth and then suffocated on it. I kept all my Pokeballs, it was about collecting them all, dammit! I had friends eating at BK to get ones for me, I traded with people for them. Of course, a year later I threw them all away because they now bored me but...

I had red and my best friend had blue. We caught em all. We quit after that.
