I thought he was way older than that.

Joseph Barbera, one half of the famous Hanna-Barbera team, at 95. William Hanna died in 2001 at 90.

Love or hate H-B, they one of the most prolific animation studios of yesteryear and their influence is undeniable.

'Tis a sad day for amination. I love the Flintstones and the Jetsons, the others were iffy from time to time, but I mean... Christ... they made a gazillion cartoons. Shorts, episodes, and full length features. Now they're both gone. At least they lived for a friggin' long time.

BURN! ... because this is as close as I can get to a candle.

RIP Hacker.

My favorite H-B cartoons were probably the Flintstones and Yogi Bear. I also liked Quick Draw McGraw and Hong Kong Phooey a lot.

Cartoon Network's Cartoon Cartoons were produced under the H-B name too and a lot of those were great, but they weren't true H-B cartoons.

I never really liked the H-B cartoons, but I sure respect them. As you said, you can't deny their influence and sheer quantity.

Hong Kong Phooey! Shit, I haven't watched that since I first got cable and Cartoon Network. I always forget that's an H-B effort.

Seventy-three isn't bad for all the shit he did. He definitely was a dominant force in the entertainment world and even a force in the Civil Rights Movement. He could still do his little sneaky dance trick when he was older. He will be missed.

BURN!

At least his usefulness outlived that of his mechanical nominal counterpart.
