Interesting thing they have going on here.

Talens and Wang are the co-founders of Fitocracy, a website that's turning gaming geeks into fitness geeks. The site has 70,000 users in its beta version and hopes to open to the 60,000 on a waiting list in the next couple months.

Fitocracy members can "level up" by earning points for their workouts. New levels unlock special challenges or "quests" that are designed to push users out of their comfort zones. For example, a runner might have to do yoga, or a bodybuilder might have to tackle a 5K.

I signed up for it but it's still in "beta mode" so who knows when I can actually start participating. But it seems like a really cool idea and want to get into it once I can. It'll be cool to see what we could get going as a Sydlexia group and possibly motivate anyone to get started or push a little harder with getting in shape.

interesting idea.

im usually self-motivated when working out, but this might add that small bit of incentive to get all the achievements possible

If you read the CNN article I first posted it goes more indepth about the theory behind it and all the good stuff but I didn't quote a ton of stuff for those "tl;dr" people.

Like you said, I do my own thing and am pretty self-motivated, but I could see this getting me to branch out and try new things or pushing myself a little harder just for those achievements or the next "level up".

Well, I've been weight-training for several months now, but I might join that site now. Very Happy
