I cant think of a system that ive loved more in the history of home consoles. With games such as Super Mario World and Super Castlevania 4, the SNES showed how it could make old video game franchises better, along with its own original games to strive off of. Here's to another 20 years SNES, I know ill still be playing mine in the future

The snes is my favorite console of all time, right above the nes. It has such a great amount of fantastic content, and I am sure I will be playing mine for another 20 years as well. Happy birthday Snes!

Happy Birthday SNES! I still remember the first game that didn't come with the system. Good old Top Gear

Happy birthday Super Nintendo Entertainment System. In honor of 20 years of the SNES I beat A Link to the Past and Super Metroid today with 100% on both games.

I grew up with the SNES, so I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels a little left out of the whole 8-bit renaissance we've been experiencing of late. When are we going to start seeing 16-bit wholesale homages?

I'll gladly start that homage! I think the SNES is just swell, I mean, it's still the bee's knees even to this day.

Ah, Super Nintendo Entertainment System; how I've taken you and your super entertainment for granted. Cheers to twenty years of excellence!

I disagree, I think the NES was the best. SNES was pretty boss though.

You're in the wrong thread, then.

I can still celebrate the SNES without thinking it was the greatest thing ever, I did say it was pretty boss. Rolling Eyes

I personally think that the SNES is better than the NES, because of the nicer graphics. And sound. And I love quite a lot of the games (Yoshi's Island, Earthbound, Mario World, etc.).

I would say that the NES is more Iconic, seeing as how it really helped to save the Video Game Industry, but I am a HUGE SNES fan, and I am trying to track down a Super Multitap, the one made by Hudson for Super Bomberman, and not it need not be the special edition one that was Bomberman's head

The NES is preferable to me because of the larger library, thus the larger amount of good games to choose from. Sure there is shovelware on every console and the NES is NO exception, but I feel it really became noticeable how many games I rented or bought for the SNES fucking SUCKED. Now that may be a purely geographical limitation in regards to the distribution of games and more than likely the games my local stores and rental shops chose to stock, but still it's how I feel.

Seems like the NES had time to grow and be pushed to it's logical hardware limitations, compare some of the later Megaman games VS some of the simplistic shit that came out during the NES launch and tell me the jump in quality was not impressive, I never saw the SNES grow and mature like that. There are more NES games I consider classics and irreplaceable than SNES games. I still really enjoyed it and wouldn't trade a working deck for anything else, but I just don't think it's the best thing since sliced bread, it's great but not the best.

Although I think the SNES is an overall better machine, I'd have to say the NES may just be slightly more special to me having played it first. And being more of a younger kid. I was already a teenager when the SNES came out.

The SNES is already 20 years old, now. I feel so old.

It still feels like yesterday that I first played on the Super Scope.
