That is sorta cool.
It makes it simpler since she is accompanying the music rather than playing something totally different. This makes the rhythm the same and is more or less just a really fancy way of tapping your foot as you play.
At one point I was mildly proficient on DDR, I feel that maybe I could do something like that and play the riff on guitar at the same time, but who knows...
