Because I love photos, and I'm curious.
They don't have to be photographed by you.

I really like the old feel of the place, Vaen. We don't have anything like that here, seeing as Brasilia is only a wee bit over 50 years old.
Speaking of Brasilia, here are some pictures:
I actually work in that fancy building
Doesn't show the city all that well, but I love this kind of night shot.
I pass this cathedral every day on my way to work... I don't even notice it anymore D:
I do love the buildings, but, to me, the most beautiful sight here is the sky. It gets significantly more impressive when you live over 3,500 ft over sea level
It just... warms the soul
Well, this is where I live

I spent my first 25 years in Hot Springs, VA, a small town in a county of less than 5,000 people.
This is about 5 minutes from my parents house. It's gorgeous.
This is near my first apartment.
This is where I got my first job. First at the resort bowling alley and then at the arcade.
"Downtown" Hot Springs.
And last but not least, where I spent most of my weekends as a kid, 15 minutes away from my house:
That's my virtual tour of my hometown!

Your hometown is nice, too, Josh. And I guess your's too, Sehksy, although I like small towns over cities.

Here's downtown of Springfield, IL...
Here's Lincoln's Home
The old state capital
The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library that they wasted something like 10 million bucks on.
The current capital building
The best place to eat in the whole city, and possibly the state...
My school, University of Illinois at Springfield
My housing is on the very top of the middle of the picture, the little townhouse buildings! Pretty neat.
The coolest thing in the entire city right here, The Dana Thomas house, the place is beautiful:
This one it won't let me use the img tags on but it is pretty cool too. http://www.totallyfreeimages.com/thumbnail.php?q=95&w=600&h=450&id=377457
Sorry it is a lot of pictures lol.

If you were in IRC you pretty much saw me jizz at this thread, since i DO love this stuff. I will give you a history of Belfast here from it's beginnings to now through maps, paintings and photographs. I don't live exactly in Belfast i live in the Greater Area so i will show you the area there. Be quick to notice that unlike American cities the plots and streets aren't built in blocks or squares.
Basically to start this was Belfast during 1685.
The closest picture i can find of this period is a painting of the High Street in 1730
Basically the High Street was the hub of development in the "city" it was were the markets would have been located etc.
Moving on to the 19th century, Victorian Belfast.
Here is the High Street in 1839 a century later.
and here are some photos of Belfast towards the end of the 19th century.
1900 Harbour - this is the period were the Titantic was getting constructed, so around there - it sailed 1912!
The clock below is the Albert Clock named after Queen Victorias husband. It is at the end of the High Street. It still stands there today. Note the horse drawn trams and the other generic Victorian things: boys selling newspapers on the streets etc.
So that's the 19th century Belfast and entering into the 20th century here is how the city looked then. The square indicates the original 1685 Belfast area. The map is from 1938 post WW2 another century later!
Here is the effect of the war on Belfast - The Blitz.
The High Street Below - you can see the Albert Clock at the end. Bombed out plots. Also trams now horseless!
More destruction, excuse the watermark.
I weirdly found links to you guys in the US. US WW2 graveyard.
And a war plaque.
Heading towards the end of the century.
Here is the high street! AGAIN. 300 years we have gone through one street! Circa 1999 - clock still there.
Now for the actual thread posts!
One of the University buildings - the one i go to!
A view of the City Centre and the houses in the background are North Belfast. The "mountain" you see in the background is Cave Hill, that is were the US airmen crashed.
More City Centre - where that wheel is, is the city hall.
The world famous H&W cranes. The area where the Titanic was built. There are two cranes, the photographer is standing on one of them!
Finally here is the City Hall, the green space is popular during the summer.
Actually i've more Belfast to show you, the troubles etc.
Here are some Murals.
Found this one with Bush i lold.
This ones for Maiden fans!
Here is the Oddysey Arena - it's a concert venue, the bit on the right with the circularesque roof is an ice hockey arena - it's also used for concerts, also a cinema in there. In the background you can see one of the cranes. The picture is taken on the M3 - one of like 5 motorways we have in the whole country. YES THAT'S RIGHT FIVE.
This is Royal Avenue, it leads up to the city hall, this is facing away from it though and is about half of it. This replaces the High Street as the big market area. This if you go to Belfast is where all the shops are located, it's the central area of business. Where the green man is on the pedestrian crossing is in fact the high street. On the corner is a McDonalds. The area to the left the white building beside the pedestrian sign is a Tescos - i don't know what it is elsewhere, it's essentially a giant food selling chain where you buy well your food! The red building past it are all clothes shops, further up is a glass building - when this was taken it was probably a virgin megastore - that building if you have been watching my Medievil videos is where i bought it! It was then another record store - Zavvi and is now another clothing store.

Behold the glory that is Portland, Oregon.
Here is the St. Johns bridge. Appropriately it is shrouded in mist like most of the city most of the year.
A view from the West Hills, across Downtown with Mt. Hood in the background.
Downtown with the Freemont Bridge in the background.
The Morrison Bridge. Yes, Portland has a ton of bridges.
A View from Mt. Tabor (located in the middle of the city) looking East toward Mt. Hood.
Burnside, where I learned to skate ramp as a young man.
That's all I really have the time/energy to post about my hometown. I think Knyte is from here as well maybe he can post some more pics.

The only place I would consider my "hometown" is Des Moines, despite living in 7 different places.
Not much of a big city as other areas, but I enjoy it for what it is.
Here's a big arch that goes over the interstate that our wonderful ex-Governor decided to spend a lot of money on, despite the fact that no one uses it.
I don't know how old of a pic this is, but the Capitol spent a great deal of time, getting refurbished, probably around 10 years. And it still looks like shit.
Apparently, we're one of, if not the best state fair in the country, but I never saw the big deal. I used to live about 4 streets away from the fair, and I dreaded it every year. Our house sat right next to the church parking lot, so a bunch of bastards would constantly block us in, because we couldn't charge for parking like everyone else would. Despite this, the fairgrounds were also used for flea markets every other Sunday, and you could find something cool every once in a while. Also since we get the Iowa Caucus, a lot of the Presidential candidates make their way out there several times.
Hey, I used to work there! And it's as busy as ever!!
The Working Adults building...also known as R2D2.

Yep that's it. You can also blame it on Incest, I mean Union City, since I lived there from age 7-15 except for when I lived in Canadohta for a year.

Yeah, and Canadohta has a pretty cool arcade, even if it is small. And in all honesty, Corry is the only place where I never had any problems with anybody. I'm fine living there, since I get along with everyone just fine.

I am from the great city of Muskegon, MI. To locate it, hold your right palm facing your face and I am about a 1/2" south of your bottom knuckle on your pinky - right on the lake.
This is Downtown Muskegon, we're a quaint little town of about 50,000.
We have so many miles of beaches, we almost take it for granted. Everyone wants to come for our beaches, but I'm like "eh, they're there, lol".
Here is one of our lighthouses in the dead of winter:
Next, the biggest piece of machinery in the State of Michigan - Shivering Timbers, one of the best wooden roller coasters around:
And finally, a picture of my beloved Muskegon Lumberjacks (the player is Robin Bouchard, the all-time Minor League Hockey Scoring Champion):
